High Fire Danger Tues Afternoon--OK Panhandle & Western Kansas

Okiedawn OK Zone 7

No, I'm not making this up. Even though most of us have had lots of rain recently and it is ideal gardening weather this week, there remain some drier areas in our region that still face less-than-ideal gardening conditions and high fire danger.

The Storm Prediction Center has included much of the Oklahoma and Texas panhandles and western Kansas in a section of the Great Plains that has "critical fire danger" for this afternnon.

While the danger does not quite rise to the level needed to issue a Red Flag Fire Warning, the combination of high temperatures, low humidity, moderately high winds and dry conditions have led to the inclusion of this area in a Critical fire danger area for Tuesday afternoon. If higher winds materialize as expected, the danger level could rise.

Jay, this mostly affects you!
