Organic Tick Control

Hey Y'all,

You might remember me from the "organic lawn care" question a while back...now, I have another question, this time regarding ticks. When we bought this house, the owners told us they had never had a tick issue and didn't have to spray, even though they had cats. Well, I found a tick on my dog the other day, so obviously we have cause to be concerned...I imagine that is the case just about everywhere 'round here. :-( So, when I lived here before I always had my yard sprayed (we live in town), but I also am trying to be as organic as possible. Does anyone know of organic methods that are really successful in controlling ticks? I'm keeping my lawn short and everything, but we have oodles of dogs in back of us, and the owners don't keep up the yards or the dogs...so that's not doing the trick. Any suggestions? Am I better off with spraying anyway? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Thanks!

Ada
