Best way to winter over potted bulbs???

Hi Guys!

Due to unavoidable circumstances, my spring bulbs did not get into the ground this year. I decided to pot them in the combinations I intended to plant them in and then to plant them in the garden when the ground thaws and my back is hopefully better.

So here is my question - what do I do with them now? Do I want to keep them moist? allow them to freeze? Keep them in the garage to keep them a bit warmer? I have about two dozen large black plastic pots of bulbs.

I really don't want to lose these bulbs, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, if this isn't too much of a struggle to overwinter them, I might need/want to do this again. On the positive side, at least I will be sure that they won't be eaten by critters!
