Help ID red flowering plant seen on OR coast

gret

Hope someone can help me identify a plant. I noticed it on the central Oregon coast and inland in the Corvallis area. The plant is clumping and seemed to be 4 ft plus in height. It has medium green strap like leaves with veins running the long length of the leaves. The flowers were red, trumpet shaped, around 1.5" each and there were many flowers on each stalk. The flower stalks came from the base of the plant. The plant is blooming currently. It reminded me of something from a bulb, but was huge. Some of the clumps were very large and so I presume it increases in size each year. Seemed to be in full sun and saw some in pots at a hotel.

Thanks for any info you can provide.
