A Winter Weather Advisory also has been issued for several counties in far southeastern OK, and that includes Le Flore County, Diane. Maybe your kids will get some real snow this time?

Let's all send our snow to Dawn since she didn't get any last storm! Looks like it could be as much as 6 inches if you believe Channel 4 in OKC.

Here we go again, and again, and again! Ready for this winter to be over.

Do y'all really think it will happen? I'm certainly not convinced we'll get much snow or that it will stick around.

It it snows, that's fine--I'll be inside starting seeds. If it doesn't snow, that's fine too--I'll still be inside starting seeds. So, it is likely it won't affect me much either way.

I've been watching the models for this storm for 8-10 days now and they'll been all over the place. The storm models that are fairly reliable this far out show the storm trying to take a more southerly path than they were showing a few days ago. Currently, there are snow-related watches and advisories across several southern states that don't see much snow, including some parts of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama and even a bit of Georgia.

The Thursday-Friday snow will be nothing compared to today's Nor'easter that has had low enough pressure that it is essentially the equivalent of a Cat. 1 hurricane if not worse. (After last night's and today's snowfall, several major Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern cities have set all-time high annual snowfall records for the winter of 2009-2010, although the records generally only go back to about 1880.) But, for southern areas that rarely see snow, the Thurs.-Fri. storm could be a big deal.

I don't particularly want snow. I was sort of hoping it would miss us since we are still so wet and muddy that the ground 'squishes' when you walk. Well, it doesn't squish early in the morning when I go out to feed/water the animals because it is frozen, but it squishes as it thaws.

It is time for some sunlight, heat and warmth so that the ground will dry out enough for planting. It's planting time!

Y'all do know there's a slight chance of more precipitation early next week don't you?

Things have finally started clearing here. Hit 38 today. And doesn't look like anything much for over a week. Maybe things will dry out some. And I can get back to work on my greenhouse. Might see the 60's next week. Took a peek at the greens in the cold frame tonight. Need to cut some in the next few days. They are really growing. Most of our snow was gone by this evening. But south of here they still have some on the ground. My BIL didn't go get hay when I told him Dan said I should. And he had to haul hay on the bad roads Sunday. The ground was covered for most of 2 weeks. I think we will see another round the week after next. As long as El Nino hangs around I think we will see the storms move through. The animals are still not indicating anything extremely cold. I think cool and wet though. May slow down my onion planting. The garlic is loving it. Poking it's little heads out now. I'm ready to be outside. The geese seem to be moving north. Hope that is a good sign. I don't trust Dawn's little ground hog. LOL.

Forecast I read a bit earlier says 1-2" accumulation. Maybe. Always with the maybes, of course.

I just don't want any rain right now. We've got new fencing to run on a hill and it's just too sloppy to do it when it rains. Gotta get those goats & chickens moved so the raised beds can go up. Hogs need to move as well so more fencing down there. Hubby tried to get some dirt moved around for that the other day but it was still too mucky down there.

My garlic has been poking its heads through the ground & mulch as well, looking as happy as can be. Also saw today that there are still quite a few surviving lettuces out there. They're not doing much growing but they're green & feisty.

Ah, well. Hubby'll get my seed starting heat gadget made tomorrow so, if nothing else, maybe I'll get some seeds started this weekend.

It is a good news/bad news morning here.

The snow started falling at 3 a.m. in the Fort Worth area and has been piling up on the roads, but behind the snow is a lot of rain. DH just arrived home from D-FW Airport and he left work in heavy snow, drove through some heavier snow near Denton, and then got ahead of the snow halfway between Denton and Gainesville. It does look like the snow was 'chasing' him home, and it is likely the snow will reach Marietta in an hour or two.

It is 36 degrees here now, so I wouldn't think the snow will stick unless our temperature drops. Unfortunately, our forecast high for the day is 36 so this is about as warm as it is going to get.

I've linked the radar from down here so y'all can see the snow moving up from Texas towards us.

Our local forecast said at 6:55 a.m. that the Texoma region seems likely to get 1" to 4" and the roadways shouldn't be much of a problem....slushy more than slippery....until the temps drop below freezing and that shouldn't be until tonight.

The geese and ducks are moving north as Jay mentioned, so I take that as a good sign.

Jay, I put in a conference call to the groundhogs in PA and they are snowed in from yesterday's blizzard, so they aren't taking phone calls.

Diane, If you're online this morning, watch and I'll post a 'Diane, it's here' message when/if the snow reaches us.

Yep, I am also in the category of "Dawn will get some snow" thinkers. First thing I thought this morning when I saw the weather.

Do us a favor, and prove it. LOL, a snow man, a snow angel, heck, just a picture with it snowing would look just fine. :)

No photos. No camera.

We have two cameras, neither of which anyone can ever find and that usually is because both of them are at the fire station, in a fire truck, in a firefighter's gear bag, etc.

Tim wanted to take a photo of our two-year-old granddaughter on Monday as she was eating a cupcake and smearing purple frosting (with sprinkles, of course) from ear to ear but he couldn't find a camera. I told him the 'no camera' issue is HIS fault because he and DS use them for firefighting stuff and they are the ones who leave the cameras in places where no one (including he and DS) can find them.

Tim looked and looked and looked all over the house and never found a camera, and I bet that's because the cameras are at the fire station. The only way I'll ever have a camera will be to buy a third camera and keep it locked in a safe when I'm not using it so they can't take it to the fire station.

We're supposed to have snow by 9 a.m. and I've already been outside to feed the wild birds, and there are a lot of them out there this morning.

The Fort Worth-Dallas area already has 2 to 4" of snow on the ground in some areas and expects to receive 6".

Unfortunately this snow will cross the Texas state line west of us and so the Altus area will have more snow today, and that's the last thing they need. I don't think everyone in Altus has their power back on yet from the last big storm.
