Hi, Streptocarpella are part of the streptocarpuses family. Rather than explain it, I would rather point you to the following page. Gesneriad Reference Web Streptocarpus is the closest relative to the African violet and it is the subgenus streptocarpella that is the closest in relationship to violets. They are so closely related that many people fear botanists may consider African violets and offshoot of streptocarpus. At least that's what I have read. I really find that hard to believe though. As we use them in commercial buildings they can get dusty and are hard to clean. It's so tempting to get a hand in and run your fingers up the fronds to clean them. You only make that mistake once. Saying that, there seems to be some variation: some are definitely rougher than others. I preface comments about names with the 'Europe' comment as the names you guys use and the names I use when talking to my Dutch suppliers are sometimes slightly different. As we can see, some plants have two+ latin names - very silly.

I do not know the products you mentioned, but mycorrhizal innoculants are not voodoo and I've used them in some circumstances with good success. Mycorrhizal colonies develop a symbiotic relationship with some root systems and are a common and necessary part of most soil ecosystems. That being said, the time to introduce it to your plantings is before or at planting time, and not after the fact. It is not proven to be beneficial to all plants equally, and you likely have it in your soil situation already. I have used mycorrhizal innoculated growing medium for at least five years in a commercial growing operation, and that's an whole different situation because the stock I was growing wasn't in natural soil, and some of it had to be grown on in a pot situation long-term. It also cost me no more to purchase the growing medium already innoculated than without it. Before it became available I did buy the innoculant by itself, more as a hedge and possible edge. My hunch is that the horse is already out of the barn with your plantings, and I'd procede pretty much as Ken suggests. Proper weeding and watering is more important at this stage.

Nice group you have there, Andrew! The unknown tagalong is a Kalanchoe (previously Bryophyllum). Somewhat young to tell species, but could be delagoensis or x houghtonii. You might want to keep it separate from your other succulents as it grows or the plantlets from its leaf edges will drop in pots (or the ground), growing in unwanted spots. If your Pleiospilos spent bloom is mushy, it's most likely not going to make seeds. I'd remove it...also checking the soil, see if too wet. Do you keep all your plants in the house? If so, near a sunny window? They seem to be happy with the care you're giving them. :)
