To answer last week's question about Pope's Money, it is indeed Honesty or Lunaria. Pope's Money is what it's called in France and Italy, but I am pretty sure I heard that name here as well, and didn't just translate it.

And my Pope's Money is indeed still in bloom, as well as quite a few late tulips.

My lilacs and redbud still look good also. My late season daffodils are still blooming. I'm waiting for my bearded iris to bloom. Buds are forming on my peonies and columbine. One of my Knockout roses has some buds that will probably open once the sun shines.

My daughter's college had some beautiful deep blue bearded iris near her dorm when I picked her up. They looked lovely in the sun (had to drive over 300 miles south to find some sun.)

Oops, I forgot my lunaria! It's HUMONGEOUS this year. I scattered the seeds a couple seasons ago in a fresh lasagna bed & the plants look like they're on steroids. I've caged them so that when the seedheads come they won't, hopefully, topple over. They've grown so much you can't even see the caging....

oh! I'm so jealous of your honesty/Pope's $$...I know some consider it a weed, but as much as I shake and shimmy my seeds, they never seem to come back for me...

That nice orange geum 'mango lassi' I bought at Avant last week is still blooming, tho it turned yellow during the rain...?

mayalena - I know what you mean about expensive invasives from WFF. I bought eupatorium 'chocolate' from them. Want some? Maybe a few hundred of them? I'll never finish rooting them all out. How's Avant Gardens this year? Haven't been there in a while, but it's on my list.

The first of the wild oriental poppies are out, too - what an absolute jolt of color, just the thing after all that rain.

I can't believe it! I went out to my pot ghetto today in between thunderstorms, because I was doing some on-line rose ordering and wanted to double check if I already had a certain rose, Souvenir de Ste. Anne. Well, not only did I have it, but it has a huge, partially-opened bud on it! Not only is it early, but with all this rainy weather, I didn't expect roses yet! Can't wait to see it open - maybe tomorrow!

Well, I only have a few other things that I didn't see mentioned. In particular, I'm happy to see the lewisia blooming. I planted them last year, so this is their 1st bloom, and I love them! And then my absolute favorite shrub, a 20+ foot tall dipelta, is doing its thing...
