Actually for the most part, they did quite well.
(All were planted last year)
M. wilsonii - broken leaf stems and leaf loss from wind, what's left is green including flower buds
M. platypetala - no leaf or bud loss, some discoloration of leaves
M. yunnanensis - small specimen (2ft), no damage
M. skinneriana - hammered in the first wind, looks pretty dead right now
M. maudiae - same as M. platypetala
M. doltsopa high elevation seedling - sited where it gets the full brunt of the wind, most leaf stems broken in the first bout, leaves dead in the second, new growth fine
M. figo 'Port Wine - tiny plant, covered, some dead leaves
Pittosporums -
P. parvilumbum - no damage
P. heterophyllum - no damage
P. garnetti - tip damage
Oh yes - the most surprising for me was the Prunus mume 'Rosemary Clarke' - it was in bloom at the time. The flowers looked pretty dessicated - limp - , but the majority of buds have recovered by now - the flowers that were actually blooming didn't even brown up - once it got warm they just kept on going!
