When you say "white and green"......
a. what size?
b. where do you want the white? on the margin, on the midleaf?

For example, look in the Hosta Library at American Halo or American Sweetheart to see what I mean.

And for size, medium, large, or huge?

Does 'Christmas Tree' look like something that fits your description? This is still a young plant in the pic; It will get quite a bit larger, and more of the leaves will get crinkly as it matures. I'm sure other peeps will have different varieties to show you.

I saw the white green with crinkly leaves like the one posted above in a thread titled striptease hosta sun tolerance. There is one on it on towards the end of the top row of the pic posted by moccasinlanding. The hostas are named but there are more hostas than names. I want one with more white than is posted above. It will have to hold its own agains hydrangeas and large evergreen trees. Thanks for the replys I will check out some of the names listed

What do you mean by crinkly leaves? Corrugated? Oh, there are so many to choose from. Check out Sun Kissed and Lakeside Prophecy Fulfilled.

Yes, hosta do change during the season. Lots of hosta come up with yellow edges that fade to white/cream during the season. The centers fade as well.

My favorite is So Sweet. It comes up with yellow edges and turns to cream. It's tough. It has fragrant flowers and stays pretty all season. (no crinkles, though) Many others do as well. So Sweet is a Medium Sized hosta and is easy to find. A young So Sweet will look like the one Mocc has in her photo. (If it's really something you like, you can email Mocc and ask her what it is. Just click on her name and it will take you to her member page and you can email from there.)

I think Paul is throwing out some ideas. However, I would not get a Great Expectations. You have to be very lucky, have 10 green fingers and live in zone 5 to make that one work.

Minuteman comes up with a white edge and will develop crinkles when mature. It does well for me in a pot. It's considered a small hosta, Easy to find.

I have a beautiful little white edged hosta called Diamonds are Forever. I don't expect it to get crinkly though. Given it's heritage, I expect it to be tough as well. It's lots smaller than Minuteman. It's fairly new, so not available everywhere.

A good sized hosta that has crinkle and Green with a white edge is Lakeside Premier. I don't have it, so can't comment on it's growth habits. It's not easy to find, but should do well in your 7/8 zone. It was bred in Tennessee, so is suited to warmer areas.

Another green with white edge I have is Francee. It's pretty good sized and tough as nails. I'ts an oldie and goodie. It would do well if anything will with the shrub competition. It's not corrugated, though.

Check those out in the hosta library. Then, click on the link on the upper left of each page and it will take you to myhostas.be which will give you more information about size, flower color, etc. Those blurbs are written by nurserymen, so they are meant to sell the hosta.

Bridal Falls, a beautiful sport of Niagra Falls may fulfill your requirements - a green hosta with lovely white pie crust edges on its leaves. (large hosta at maturity). Here is a photo of my juvenile planted this year. I know it will become a prized hosta.

Wow on Whee its going on the list. I have been to Sebright gardens down in oregon. Does anyone have any experance buying from them? I live in the pacific northwest so mild wet weather . My hydrangeas beds are probly a total of three hundred feet long with plenty of room so the only important thing about size will be something big enough to not get lost. Checking out all the pretty ones you have posted here I think I am going to start a white/green hosta collection. I already have some 8 or 9 large clumps of Fracee host in my full sun flower beds so I know hosta grow well here as long as I can keep the bannana slugs off them. I quite trying to grow new ones a few years ago because the slugs eat the young ones faster than they can come up. I finally figured out I have to get after the slugs really really early in the year or there are just to many of them.

I purchased three plants from Sebright's that have had spectacular growth in their first year. They traveled cross country to Delaware and arrived packaged well and in great condition. I just placed another small order with them.

My green with white faves are fragrant queen and fair maiden. You can see in the hosta library pics of fragrent queen how new leaves often come out cream then fade to whits.

I honestly can not think of many puckerd green with white hosta.

Brim cup - it can have drawstring issues...

have you considered blue with white or green with cream that turns to white?

it may expand your options and add variety to your collection?

Great Escape is stunning white edged hosta but not puckerd
Mount Tom is a nice green and cream / white one
Patriot is green and white with some puckering but can have drawstring issues as well...
Afterglow is a very pretty green and cream edged hosta.

I would also consider selecting a few stand outs of your preferred color/texture combo and filling in with supporting role hosta that make the star shine.

I keep getting distracted while looking for for this paricular type of hosta, There are just way to many stunning ones available in diff types. I did find a blue and white with crinkly leaves but need to research better pics of it. I didn,t have a clue so many existed. It needs to be med to large huge would be a bonus. I want alot of white so it stands out. Shh don,t tell my husband but I am in love. His name is Sweet Innocence. Does anyone here grow it?

Check out Newhostalady's 'Great Arrival' on the "Here's a Challenge .......thread. Looks like a contender - puckered green leaves with a large white margin. I love it.

Wide Brim. Inexpensive, tried and true, easy to grow, somewhat sun tolerant.

Great Arrival is almost perfect it just needs to have white edges for what I want. I just pulled the trigger and bought a large pot of MinuteMan. I called a local nursery with my short list and its the only one they have and its in a large pot . The slugs will have a harder time eating something well started. I am going to take the advise to chose a few key plants then fill in from there.

Mayd, I purchased several from Sebright this year, they have some streakers which you might be interested in getting. If you wish to let them form seedpods, it is from the streakers that you can expect to grow fancy seedlings....by that I mean something with mixed up colors instead of simply green, blue or gold single color hosta babies.

Very nice people there. If you are close enough, I think you might call and make an appointment to visit the grounds. So many nurseries with internet sales are not open for retail except by appointment it seems. Wish I could live close enough to make a first hand visit somewhere.

Whee? I have one I got in 2012, and it is turning into a much larger hosta than I expected. Looks better every year. When it starts emerging in the spring, it is unbelievably lovely, so twisted and frilly. You will be pleased.

Okay, you say you are in love with Sweet Innocence. Hmmm, how about also adding SO SWEET? BKay has the perfect one, in a pot, I think her favorite hosta but she can better tell you that. I have two of them, and I also have Sweet Innocence. I haven't given it individual attention this year, so much going on, but here is one of my two also containerized.

I was thinking of DARK green.....but this one is a great hosta and fragrant as well.

So Sweet, with the white and a darker green. Two larger pots are the So Sweet. Up top is Fragrant Dream left, and just a piece of Fragrant King.

So sweet is stunning as well. I was looking for a darker leaved hosta with the white but when I saw Sweet innocence I instantly knew the right spot for it. I also have a spot for Spilt Milk in mind.Now I am looking for a hosta ( I saw a small on on the dirty laundry thread)that has lime green in the center with wide darker green edges. It needs to be medium to large as well. Its really good to know Sebrights is a good place to order from. I was there a few years ago and have been planning a trip back as soon as I can get a free weekend. Thier about two hours each way from me. A trip down there is probly just what I need to get my head straight on the diff. types of hosta. I know iris , roses and hydrangeas really well but I am totally lost when it comes to anything to do with hostas other than that they are a shade plant and slugs just love them.

Madeyna, Sweet Innocence and Fragrant Queen are almost identical, FQ is darker green, though. I'm on my second FQ, so I don't know how tough it is. I got both in an order from Hallson's this spring.

Am I seeing things or does Diana remembered have blue as well as green?

Maybe there is some blue. Maybe it is sometimes a bit gray.

It is a very very nicely fragrant hosta too.
