nothing..I have nothing other than the weeds for 2007...
:( I have some sunflower seedlings that are growing..and my delphiniums are thinking about making an appearance...but otherswise..lots of dirt and weeds!

on the other hand..I'm looking for some bueberry bushes that are good for my area..and I'm looking for prince and princess blue holly...

Funny, I was just thinking of Belle Isis and her thread too, last week. I was walking around seeing what popped up, and enjoying my crocuses, and thought, hmm, where's Belle Isis? I considered starting the thread myself, but didn't want to seem pushy, in case she was going to start it.

I hope she's traveling somewhere exotic and will be back soon - I've been missing her too. Here's what's blooming in my garden.

• Witch hazel (Jelena, Diane and Arnold Promise) are finishing up but still colorful

• Heath - whites, purples and hot pink

• Cornus mas - just starting, tiny yellow flowers

• Winter jasmine - on its second show, not as great as some years

• Viburnum 'Dawn' - similarly to jasmine, it lost its first set of flowers to the late cold snap

• Hellebores - hybrids, niger and foetidus are in full swing

• Minor bulbs:snowdrops, early crocus, some scilla, a few early daffodils, and various other "spring ephemerals" whose names escape me.

• cyclamen coum - I had expected them much earlier, and it took me awhile to figure out what they were.

• Dandelions, and some much more interesting weeds.

I think that's about it - though Im sure Ill think of something else as soon as I submit this!

Digging the dirt--what a lovely assortment of early blooms! I've got crocus, and one sad little hellebore bloom that's trying not to freeze off the plant before it blooms! Forsythia looks like it's thinking about blooming soon. Or should I say again. It first started to pop in January! Same with the Quince!

Ooooh what a pretty iris! I have several colors of crocus, snow drops, hyacinth and that's it so far.

Flutterbug I too liked this thread and did look to see what others had in bloom and how it compared with my garden.

Right now I only have boring crocus. At least the deer haven't found them!

Thanks for the tip on Ocean State Job Lot - I went to the one in Buzzards Bay and it had Blue Maid, not Blue Princess; but that's fine with me since I already have the Blue Stallion which pollinates Blue Maid.

All of them were in flower, way too early for here so I hope they don't drop the berries (I bought five one-gallon size for $25 total).

I have crocuses and ONE Johnny Jump-Up.

Everyone's pictures are great! I finally have two crocus with flowers, unfortunately I am wishing I hadn't bought cheap bulbs. The crocus blooms are maybe an inch tall and not much wider! I see crocus in other peoples yards, driving by in my car, so they must be larger than this! Oh well hopefully the bone meal I put in the planting hole will help next year.

Some daffodils are fully budded and starting to show color, but not blooming yet.
Tomorrow I expect everything will end up buried under snow again.

Flutterbug - There are two kinds of crocus, the tiny species crocuses, which need to be planted in masses or near a walkway to be easily seen, but which bloom earlier, and the larger crocus vernalis, which blooms a bit later. Maybe you're seeing the bigger type in others' yards.

I have a few daffodils opened, but the stems seem much shorter than usual. Does any one else have the same experience?

All I have is the few crocus. Strangely, both of my hydrangeas still have last year's old blooms on them, but I can't count that, can I? I've never had to remove them before. I wonder why they hung on.

Does anyone have Styrax Japonicus? I planted one last year and I'm wondering if I should be seeing something going on with it. I see a couple of very small leaf buds and that's it - - otherwise plain gray bare twigs. I wonder if it is dead. Same with my Mohawk Viburnum. The stalks are a powdery gray and the few buds, which are supposed to be bright red and showy, red, are gray as well. :-(

All summer beauty and Nikko Blue buds present!! I thought the bitter cold would have killed all of my old hydrangea wood.

My exposed vinca minor has all suffered winter burn, and it is all dried out.

Have variegated dog hobble (not a bloom, but a source of bright green color!).

I had more in January, too.
Today outdoors: the first lent lily (daffodil), a few corsican crocus from the fall planting (established ones are nearly done I think), and the beginning of the chionodoxas. On the way: other daffs.
Indoors: three Douglas Prize primulas seeded last spring, and an amaryllis given to me a year ago Christmas. Also mignonette and alpine strawberries from recent seed. Go figure.

I've got a hellebore bloom, and one more on the way--I can't believe they withstood the winds and water this past weekend!
Tete a tete daffs are out, and some purple and white crocus still hanging on (yellow ones are all passed).
Forsythia in bloom (for second time-first in Jan), as well as a few blooms on the vinca and the pulmonaria.
Can't wait to get out there on Sun--although I fear it may still be too wet--my neighbor came over to survey the water damage and sunk above his ankle in the garden---quicksand! I just know under that big footprint is a poor little plant, trampled and muck-logged.....
