Ditto. The coneflower seeds are the tan cone shapes, not the dark sticks. I store my seeds in the refrigerator in a plastic bag- just make sure the seeds are completely dry before you store them or they will rot in a plastic bag. I dry mine on a paper plate for a week or so. Cool room temp is fine too, probably the garage is ok, but that is getting really cold. Cosmos & calendulas are really easy, you can direct seed them outside after the last hard frost. I think coneflower need cold to germinate, so you can plant the seeds in the ground in late winter.

Looking at your photo more closely, I believe your naked-ladies are amaryllis belladonna rather than the lycoris which I usually associate with the name. If this is so the seeds will be more of a flat papery disc shape though also ready as the pod browns. In this case check out the amaryllis forum here for seed starting as it is a bit more involved. Sorry, I didn't add better pics to this post, also posted elsewhere. Here they are. They're from a random hitchhiking kid who also gave me a few packs of veggies and Tulsi, when I gave a ride in northern California. All others were labeled and sprouted. I do plan on starting just a few to test, but I'm looking for a backup plan/ friends garden if they turn out to be too awesome to trash but too big for my own. I guess now that I found gardenweb I can always give the baby plants away to a newbie! :)

Could be L formosanum, but doubt it, although I haven't seen much species lily seed pod, but the seed pod in question is a bit too small for L formosanum (if that is Centimeter). seed also look too small, my lilium formosanum can grow and flowers from 30cm to 2 meter if happy, so quite variable. L formosanum is the only lilium freely growing here in tropical sumatera, from seed or bulb. (other lilium are too difficult, (I grown asiatic and few oriental) need to be grown from bulb chilled few months in refrigerator) I have never seen Lilium philippinense seed pod in flesh also
