looking for info on a NJ greenhouse company

Does anyone have any information on this company that existed in the 70's and 80's?

Did they get bought out, go out of business, or rename themselves?

Martha here is a link to a company that had them as a client at some point. Maybe you could shoot them an email, and they could tell you if they are still around.

I have the manual for the duo pane lean to model 812 as well as a sales brochure . .I am looking for a replacement for the vinyl strips that hold the upper glass in place it has deterioriated over the years . . Wayne

Buckster, Heirloom varieties from GrowItalian.com do well for me because they are naturally adapted to our Mediterranean climate. You can also find many varieties of heirloom vegetables at Seed Savers Exchange (seedsavers.org) and the folks at the Heirloom forum on GardenWeb can give you information about other sources. The easiest way to deal with poor soil is to build lasagna beds. A search of GW will give you all the information you need about them. Because of our vole problem I grow mostly in containers and raised beds set on a base of hardware cloth. AS Dave says, we have two primary growing seasons for most things, although they grow melons and corn in the Imperial Valley all summer long. In the spring season you have to deal with cold soil and late frosts. Cover the soil with clear plastic for a couple of days before you plant and that will help to warm it up, then keep a sheet handy to throw over your plants when frost is expected and they'll be fine. As for specifics about vegetables, eggplants and okra can take a lot of heat and Cabrita liked amaranth as a hot weather green after the spring crops pooped out. Sweet peppers(such as Marconi) produce like gangbusters and are much easier (for me) to grow from seed than bell peppers. Tomato-wise, if you search the Tomato forum for "desert", you'll find several recommended varieties that perform in hot weather. Personally, Super Sioux was a champ for me, all summer long, but I kept it in dappled shade for the three hottest months. Seed packets that recommend "full sun" mean 6 hours of sun in an ordinary location, or 3 hours of our highly concentrated light. Almost everything does better under light shade in July, August, and September. And, finally, we Southwestern gardeners sort of bounce all over GW. Depending on our Sunset Zone, you may find us in the Arizona, California, and Southwestern forums as well as here. Thank you all so very much. It is truly appreciated. I have decided to do the following. Mexican Sycamore, Apple, one Apricot, and Royal Empress seeds. My neighbors donÂt have anything and all think I am wasting my money. I wonÂt be doing a fig. I am afraid that it would be useless. The fact that I have an organic vegetable garden is good. I have really black soil already. Some of the tree saplings will be planted and fenced it there. I also have a well so water isnÂt a factor as yet. My vegetable garden is 25 feet by 70 so there is room. Now I am tilling another 40 by 70 for more vegetables. The success of this one now still growing is fantastic. I have about 200 pounds of blue Hubbards, maybe 150 pounds of butternut squash, some 20 small acorn squash, (donÂt know why they stayed so small) have to figure that one out next year, a freezer full of zucchini, string beans, yellow squash, and radishes still growing, so figure that out? Puzzles me on the radishes. Some are flowering, so are hard as a rock, and some are still eatable. I also have a lot of lettuce still. I planted several varieties, but no Boston Iceberg. I have as yet a 10 by 10 foot cluster of carrots and another of beets. One of the beets was so big I couldnÂt place my hands around it completely. It was huge. We ate and gave plenty already but I still have to harvest them and put them away for the winter. The butternut will stay on the ground until it turns completely yellow. The blue hubbards are still growing but turning blue now that the nights are so cold. I picked one that weighed 15.5 pound and gave it to the neighbor that gave me the seeds. There are many more bigger than that. I had only one cross with the butternut and it weighs 19 pounds. The rest are in the garden waiting. The zucchini are still prolific. I picked another 10 large ones today. Amazing how they love it up here. My tomatoes are just now starting to do well. That is really strange. I will pick them green and place in a cool dark place to eat as they ripen. The cold nights must be a factor with them somehow. I used horse, steer, a little chicken, and thatÂs it for the manure. I didnÂt use anything else at all. I watered lightly every day. About 15 minutes at night and sometimes a little again in the early am. Usually just before the sun was completely up. So, the reason for telling this here is because I am so happy to have a great soil for next year and I feel that the right trees will make it with little effort. Am I correct that Edison NJ is not too far from the PA border (looks like about 2 1/2 hours to Lancaster, Meyerstown areas?) If so, I would strongly suggest you look into some of the custom cabinet makers in Lancaster PA or the general area. You may be surprised at the fact that really custom cabinets from a custom local cabinet maker are both less expensive and better quality (especially as far as being durable for your kids). I know that a lot of people here have worked w/ Oxford Cabinet Company. Craftlady (not sure if that is the exact right user name?) just had her kitchen done by Blue Mountain Woodworking. I am getting my kitchen done by Dutch Wood in Meyerstown. I would do a search for threads related to those cabinet makers and think about paying them a visit if you are even close to being w/in the driving range of them. My custom cabinet order was way less than it would have been had I gone w/ a "big box" store and I am getting ALL the bells and whistles now w/ my cabinets too.

Hi Dawn, I got my fiberglass pool last summer (installed right after Memorial Day). I also got quotes from Artistic but was turned off by them and some of their reviews. I ended up going with Swimmingpoolnow.com. The owner is John Buchler. The pool I got was from Leisure Pools. I was satisfied with the sales process, pricing and installation overall. My only criticism is that John seemed overwhelmed and could really use someone at an office to help manage the projects. For sales I didn't feel pressured into anything. John did a good job and brought samples of the various gel coatings we could pick from, rather than base our decision on swatches in a brochure. Pricing was good too. For installation we scheduled a time but it got pushed back because of weather one or two times. John did the excavation and they lifted the pool with the excavator (with straps of course) into place. They used a laser and lifted the pool in and out probably 5 times to ensure they got it perfect (was happy to see that!). On the plumbing I required rigid PVC rather than flex PVC as I read that termites can eat flex PVC. John brought the pipes but didn't bring enough fittings, so rather than hold up the job I said it was ok to use flex PVC in a few spots. With regard to equipment I opted for a variable speed pump, a pleated filter, a heat pump pool heater and a robotic vacuum. John brought all the wrong equipment (except the heater) on the day of installation. Once brought to his attention he made sure the truck brought the right stuff the next day. I didn't feel he was trying to scam me, but it was frustrating nonetheless. Again, he needs someone at an office to manage that sort of thing. After everything got sorted out we were up and running and I have no complaints. I would certainly recommend John/Swimmingpoolnow, but would also suggest that you check on these details and be there on the day of installation. Good luck!

Is your greenhouse a "florada"?
I have some vinyl strips that I did not use because I used twinwall and it didn't fit into some of the pieces, and I also didn't have a complete manual so didn't know where some of the pieces went. If you can send me a photo of the part you need, I may be able to help you out. If you have some of the instructions that I am missing, maybe we can help each other out!

I have a English Greenhouse sun room from this company with double glazed glass. I have Mold and moss growing in between the windows. Does anyone know how to get glass out so I can clean in between them.

We have an opportunity to dissasemble and move a English Greenhouse Ltd ( Camden NJ company ) measuring 10 x 12 ft. Plan is to pour a slab and build a garden shed on the north half of the slab and add the ex-sunroom turned greenourse to the southern half of the slab.

It would be easier to dissasemble the greenhouse with a set of plans. The site were removing the English Greenhouse/sunroom from does not have the plans anymore, so Im hoping to locate a set.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well, Im almost half way throuogh dismantling the English Greenhouse. So far, it's not all that bad, ...actually very manageable. Soon It will require some extra muscle when the glass pannels are removed. I'll keep posting developements.

Well... Today I have a small crew comming over to help with dismantling and the relocation of the greenhouse to our place. The double panes are all compromised, but for a greenhouse, it should function well enough.

I was employed by EGPC in the 80"s as a shop foreman in the special projects dept. We manufactured all commercial and bastard size greenhouses. All standard size such as 8-10-12 feet feet were packaged at our facility but were extruded by Aluminum Shapes (Delran NJ), and fabricated at FBF Industries (Southampton Pa.). Any help with the ID of parts or plans can be gotten from Alan Casperson (Pennsauken NJ) who was the plant mgr from its startup and has a unique memory for part numbers and the like.

I just came upon this post as I'm also searching for plans and some pieces to a greenhouse from 1979 that was never actually installed! I have extra pieces (6x gazing bars and 3 of the end bars that make up the sides) as well if someone would be willing to help me out. I have some very basic plans and have been kinda working it out myself but if you have better plans I would love them. I am missing 2 I-beam support bars that I know of thus far. If you have some and/or info on how I can purchase those somewhere, please email me directly!

I have a witch of 13 square meters Florada 1978 Greenhouses 2 pcs I bought 2016 and 2017 150 € pcs I plan to renovate and make one greenhouse. Does anyone know anything about the fastening strips of those curved plexes, it has been reportedly a thick list. The garden movement said, who has resold them long ago. There is little information about the Internet in the world.

I recently purchased one of these (There is no makers mark anywhere so that was challenging enough to figure out what I have) for $20. By comparing the parts I have with the diagram and photos above, I am certain thats what I have.

A woman on Facebook near me is selling one, new in the box from 1979 and she posted some photos of the manual. I though I would share them here, in case it is helpful to anyone else.
