well not at all. The only problematic campanulas I am aware of are the famously dreadful C.Rapunculoides - I love it and risk it although I have a clone which does not run everywhere)) and the running C.takesimana. Have heard that C.allarifolia can be bit dodgy too. C.pocharskya (one of the creeping ones) will spread but is so easy to just take a large handful and a gentle tug and it is under control. Symphyandra, a close relative, will run about and I think that some of the adenophoras are a bit naughty -not commonly grown in the UK for some reason. The most irritating thing about C.glomerata is its tendency to fall over - and it always looks a bit weird if staked. I think if you grow it hard, it will be better.

Hi Roni, Well, that was a thought provoking question. [g] I had to think, what is my favorite thread. Then I had to go looking for what I've been posting on lately. Nothing seemed to fit the bill of the kind of gardening you are doing. I don't primarily garden with native plants, althought I'm very cautious of invasives. So, I went looking for the 'Natives' forum here that I could start a thread that you could respond to. Surprise, no natives forum? Really? I was surprised. I see there is a Natives Plant Exchange, but I didn't see a thread there that would be appropriate. I know I've read some posts lately about native plants but they had to be part of another discussion. So, Roni, I grow perennials and shrubs, some of which are native. I just made an order this spring from of all places PrairieMoon Nursery [no connection to me] of seeds, and bareroot plants. I also grow roses, I'm an organic gardener. I grow vegetables. So, I normally am posting in the New England forum which is where I am from, but there is light activity there usually. Or I'm posting to the Vegetable forum sporadically or the Rose forum sporadically. The Perennials forum is often the most active, and I guess I post there sporadically too. So, I'm thinking, I'm going to give you a link to two threads that I've been posting to lately. One is on the New England forum that is really just a photo thread that is monthly. People post photos of what is going on in their garden for that month and then they start a new one the next month. Naturally conversations grow out of that sometimes, sometimes not. Or there is a second thread called Blooming June, started by a long time member on the Perennial forum, that I've responded to recently. If you would like to just jump into either of those threads and post a few photos and feel free to join the conversation. Or I could start an entirely new thread on the Perennials forum on the subject of the kind of gardening you are doing, and see how much interest you get on natives. I'd at least be very interested to follow along. That would be my suggestion for you to feel out the forums to see if it is a fit for you. Really, the forums used to be called GardenWeb and it was a great place to be, and there was a lot of fast moving discussion, but a lot changed when the site moved to Houzz and a lot of long time members left and there has been less activity here. So, what I am going to do, is start a new thread on the Perennial forums to ask you about your garden and you can see how much interest that generates in the kind of gardening you do. And if that seems less than you hope, then you can try the two threads I mentioned and see if the conversations interest you at all. Here are the links. Yes, I believe you can root a cutting of Lantana. At least with L. montivedensis. I tried during the spring when mine was putting out lots of new growth. As more an experiment than anything, I put 4 cuttings in water and watched them. Three dried out and died in about a week. The fourth put out roots, but didn't transplant well into soil. Having said that, I am extremely new to gardening and there was probably a ton of 'user error' on my part. I did not use rooting hormones on my cuttings but simply put them straight into the water. I also did not have my rain buckets at that time and so was using water from the tap, which for where I am, is very heavy with calcium. There were probably a number of other things I did wrong that I am not even aware of. But the partial success of that fourth cutting makes me fairly confident that it can be done successfully and I will be giving it another shot the next time I see new growth coming from my planted ones.

I suspect it, like any V. cornuta, will invade to some extent. Mowing the lawn will keep it in check; it will come to form part of the turf ecology. But it will tend to pop up anywhere it can get started. Hoeing seedlings will prevent it getting started in new quarters, however.
