Yes boy, I got to see it and watched it in different stages over the whole eclipse. My DD called to remind us, and even my dh informed me when the sky cleared. It was the most beautiful I'd ever seen too, Marda. I caught it at one point, where it was red tinged, but a crescent of it was almost turquoise blue. I ventured outside with coat and earmuffs once or twice, but was too much of a weenie to keep doing that, so I would go to the front door, and open it often to see it most clearly and check it out with binocs. The foyer was in total darkness and I shut the massive old door on my sixteen year old cat, who screamed and ran up the steps like his heinie was on fire. Poor little guy. He didn't come back out for hours. I haven't talk to my dd or her husband yet today, but I don't even have to ask her where they were last night for hours. In their observatory.

Hi There are WAY too many thinks going on in astronomy to keep with lol Think a lunar eclipse will be more serious than a collision with a near earth object?? How about the Andomeda galaxie is definitely colliding with the Milky way galaxie much faster than previously thought lol The expansion of the universe seems to be picking up speed?? Is the sun flaring more than usual if so what are the odds of a full impact with earth?? So many things to worry about !!! lol gary

Those are great still, good capture. Hey, I tilted my head but didn't see the man on the moon... sigh.... LOL... It was a clear but cold night here. I was trying to see it from my windows but no sight of it, too many trees :(. It's supposed to happen 3 more times in the next 6 months. I'll be ready with my camera next time... hopefully. I remembered as a child, we used to lay on top of military jeep's hood to watch the eclipses. Lunar eclipse wasn't a rare sight for us at that end of the world. We lived far from city lights and we could see the sky from one end to the other.

Martin, I was in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, in 1999 and the birds did roost there too although we did not get total darkness, just a weird light effect like a sepia photo and stillness. Do you watch "Sky at Night"? I had the pleasure of meeting Sir Patrick at his birthday party just before that eclipse. The general conversation was about where people were going to see the eclipse. Some were going on a ship (I cannot recall to where but it sounded very exciting!) I think that Sir Patrick was in Cornwall for the BBC. Of course, in Australia, we only saw this eclipse on TV. I am so glad it stayed fine for you!
