Hi All,

Here are a few pictures from early summer here in Oregon. Most were taken from around Mt Hood. (All photos are my own and are not to be used without my written permission.)

Corallorhiza maculata, a purely saprophytic/parasitic orchid with no chlorophyll.

Listera convallarioides, larger than the more common cordata, but still tiny.

A little yellow guy, possibly Mimulus luteus?

Monotropa hypopitys, the multiflowered version of Indian Pipe (which is also blooming now).

A neat No ID. If anyone knows what it is, IÂd like to know. It is a small herb, less than one foot tall with a single leafless stem and 10 or so of these nodding pink flowers. I didnÂt see leaves anywhere on the plant, actually Growing in a boggy area.

Platanthera dilatata, one of the showier western bog orchids, and my first time to actually see the flowers open!

Platanthera hyperborea, one of the more common bog orchids of this area.

Veritrum viride, in full flower near the edge of the lake.

And the flower closeup.

Best,

Ross
