Johnmerr, WOW! I always wondered how many trees you had in your orchard. I was just reading in another thread where you were "gushing" about the wonders of the meyer...maybe I'll add one to my collection. We had a potted one in the office for a while and all it did was set one bloom flush after another. The pot was really too small for it to support many lemons but it sure tried! Gnappi, I'm soooo jealous of your climate and soil! It get's too cold here for most tropical fruit but it's really all relative. I am amazed at what folks in northern states are growing by moving pots in and out of the house. My soil is poorly drained clay and the land is so flat around here there is very little downhill relief for creating drainage with french drains. The high places in my yard tend to bake in the sun and plants take forever trying to push roots into the rock-hard clay. The lower places tend to be wet and sticky for extended periods after rains. I have done a little leveling recently with six dump truck loads of dirt and I'm revising my planting methods by planting on a partial mound of dirt/sand brought in from other locations. Unfortunately, most of my trees are planted too deep. I transplanted a kumquat last year and it's finally quit dying back and is blooming now in a new, mounded up, location.

Actually, after I posted I thought that RR might have tied you up. Draw 5 boxes side by side. Let's assume you are feeding water to them (supplying) from the lower rt side. Number them sequentially R-L at the lower rt hand corner. Now the return side. What you want is to balance the flow as closely as possible without using balancing valve. So, let's assume you pull the return off the top rt on the same side you supplied. Number those at the top, again, sequentially at the top rt corner from R-L. If you then add the numbers in each box together you will have very low numbers in the Rt side box and larger as you go to the L. These numbers represent pressure drop. All the flow will take the path of least resistance and the L side boxes will be starved. What you are trying to do is end up with a total of 6 in each box, representing equal pressure drop in each box. The way this is stated in hydronic land is "first on, last off". So with the same boxes let do the outlet number at the upper L corner from 1-5. The last box on the L will be 1 & that on the rt 5, totaling 6 in each box. Pipe it that way and you should have flow to each zone. You will have to balance various zones depending upon the pressure drop at each emitter, but at least your mains won't be fighting you too. Did I further confuse you here?

A lot of quotes are mostly "I" and "why". For me the quotes of the day comes from Emily Post: "Manners are a sensitive awareness of the feelings of others. If you have that awareness, you have good manners, no matter which fork you use". Seems to me that now too many look for the fork.
