Help Identifying

Can someone tell me what this plant may be? It has come up on it's own for years and this is the first time I remember seeing flowers on it. They look like small orchids in a cluster. I have pictures but I'm not sure how to post them. It is more like a small shrub or tree, rather than a plant. I'm in So. IL.

Possibly Epiphyllum oxypetalum (Queen of the Night) which is an old pass-along type epiphytic cacti houseplant. Have you ever seen it bloom? Does it bloom at night?

It's "French Provincial" that was popular in the 60's and 70's...maybe even started in the late 50's. Only sat on by adults wearing their good clothes. Never used for TV viewing, no kids nor dogs, no eating in that room unless it was a cocktail party and you were wearing pearls and high heels. LOL! Very nice...and I think you got a great buy! Clean it up a little and keep the kids and dogs off of it and never drink red wine anywhere near it! Linda C

Merci Nadine. C'est vrai, ses aiguillons sont redoutables et il m'a souvent bien abÃ®mÃ© vÃªtements et mains. Quand ils se prennent dans le chignon, c'est pas mal aussi.... Il est contre un haut mur exposÃ© Ã l'ouest dans une cour abritÃ©e et cela semble lui plaire. MalgrÃ© la chaleur du climat un peu continental du Gard, il rÃ©siste pratiquement sans arrosage et ne semble pas souffrir. Your plant is Catalpa bignonioides.
Bignoniaceae family has planty of spectacular plants.

Yes, it's a Catalpa, a fast growing tree with beautiful flowers. One of my very favorites.

Yep, that's it. Also read somewhere that it is slow growing. Wish I knew if I could relocate it.
