It sounds like you all have it figured out and all the advice is excellent as far as I can tell. I just couldn't help but agree that it absolutely looks like clopyralid or amiopyralid damage. I had a bad bout with it 3-4 years ago when all my homemade potting soil got contaminated by well composted alpaca manure. It took over a month to figure it out and I lost a bundle of valuable crops in the process. Clopyralid based herbicides have been banned in Oregon except for use on golf courses but then Dow chemical just comes out with Milestone which is amiopyralid instead. It's the same exact problem just with another chemical. To the OP, i'm afraid there really isn't anything you can do for the plants. If the cause is the manure, at least you're not contaminated forever. In the soil the chemicals do break down in a few months. But if left above ground the herbicide can last for years and damage sensitive plants (mostly tomato, potato, legumes) at tiny amounts (parts per million). Oh, I looked into a soil test for herbicide and it was extremely expensive. It's not an average soil test. Wow, what a bunch of experts. Yes, that looks just like it. The only difference is that the ones I found were a much brighter pink. Those must be it, though. They don't seem to have any particular use other than just being interesting to look at. Perhaps I can go back and find one to put in the yard. Thanks for your help!

K.. To funny about the " Marketing 101". It's true!! I have heard that George H is doing a great job with grafting as well! There is another George S down in Texas that receives shipments of grafted trees from Thailand. I believe he still has a few, but again.. they will come down in price next year. Dupefl.. I thin you might see some rooting these in a few years when they mature. Most of the trees around are pretty small and this cultivar is so beautiful and in short supply, they tend to graft to get those single tips out.. " 101". You might find that it's possible . Just like George Brown aka Musk Rainbow. Everyone says to graft, but I have rooted several and never had any problems. The hardest cultivar to root, in my opinion is Kapalua. I finally rooted one after several attempts. Friends have tried as well with only a few that were successful. This is why Kapalua is often mentioned Along with " grafting". Andre.. lol. Virginia creeper has stunning fall color and interesting foliage so in a wild setting, it is quite beautiful. I saw a variegated one for sale recently in a big box store so obviously, others think so too. But yes, every little bit of root will sprout a new creeper plant and so it is “robust.”
