I wanted to remind everyone to visit the Lyman Estate Greenhouses in Waltham MA in Feb this year. Great way to get away from the winter blues and see some camellias, orchids and tropical plants.
Last year I visited (later in Feb) and here are some photos to inspire you to visit:

For a post-holiday treat, visit the celebrated
collection of camellias in the 1800s camellia house
at the Lyman Estate greenhouses. Cultivation of
camellias was once a serious pastime for the Boston
gentry, and the Lyman Estate trees are historic
survivals with many over a hundred years old. This
is the time of year when these century-old trees put
forth a profusion of blossoms in all sizes and shapes.
A variety of camellias propagated from the 100-year-old
trees will be available for purchase. Other plants
in flower at this season include orchids, citrus, and sweet olives.
