The Poppy in the photo is definitely a perennial, probably an Orientale. If you want to transplant, be prepared to dig for a long taproot and transplant in moist soil quickly. Keep moist for a couple of weeks. The plant will sulk big time, but should recover. To help it you may want to cut the blooms/pods off so they don't take too much energy from the plant, and cut back some of the longer leaves. I take my chances at transplanting these and succeed about 7 out of 10 times. Well worth the effort to try. :O)

Brenda, your post brought tears to my eyes. I'm so sorry...I just lost my dad a little over a month ago. He and my mom were married 60 years. I didn't even have chance to give them much of an anniverary party when he became ill. I'm praying for you for strength, it's the only thing that seems to help. How wonderful that you can get comfort from your yard and butterflies. On the day of my Dad's funeral I released 4 monarchs that I raised from eggs that we had collected. Two of them flew up onto a maple tree within feet of each other and basked in the sun. Ever since, I've had many, many monarchs in the yard. I'll always think of Dad when I see one. My first thought when I saw the picture was that it might be a Tabbaco Hornworm moth. But it's hard to get an idea of size because I don't know how big a ginger blossom is. Foliage on rose 1 reminds me of sunsprite here, but I see what looks like green in the petals - so maybe St Patrick? Check out this site it's a grower site and might help you see what the common roses are.
