Need advice on planting two maples

I recently purchased two maple trees. One is labeled "Acer Rubrum" and the other is labeled "Burgundy Belle Maple." I have never planted maple trees (and there are none on my lot, which is old farm land overrun with bull briars that we are removing and replacing with trees for shade). I've been reading many postings and wonder three things: 1) Will the trees roots most likely surface? 2) Can grass grow underneath these two varieties? 3) How close can I plant one to my house so that we can benefit from the shade it will eventually cast on our house. I planned on planting the "Acer Rubrum" on the corner of our lot which is bordering wetlands since this would seem to suffice the watering needs of the tree. What about the Burgundy Belle maple? Can I plant it near enough to my house to get shade yet still grow grass underneath? Any help would be great since I am watering the trees as they sit out in the summer sun now. Thanks!
