Comments (12)Interesting list....thx Dax. Many of these are in the ground already but the following list is my master list when I am done. I am confident I'll mofidy some as I go. Many of these are scheduled to arrive this fall and next spring. This spring I am still in the final construction phase so I won't be planting much new stock. So Resin, or anyone else for that matter, if you see anything on this list that is pretty much guaranteed to probably fail, don't be afraid to let me know. In Oklahoma's 7A we are mostly a mild climate with average to slightly high annual relative humidy - higher than Denver - lower than Houston. We typically see around 10-20 days over 100 in the summer and around 30 days between 15-32 in the winter. Our winters and springs are typically wet. That being said, after all the planning and re-planning over the last year, here's the list : Abies koreana 'Ci's' Abies koreana 'Green Carpet' Abies koreana 'IceBreaker' Abies koreana 'Silberlocke' Abies nordmanniana 'Golden Spreader' Abies procera 'Blaue Hexe' Acer palmatum 'Aratama' Acer palmatum dissectum 'Red Select' Acer palmatum 'Murasaki Kiyohime' Acer palmatum 'Orangeola' Acer palmatum 'Shaina' Acer palmatum 'Shirazz' Cedrus deodara 'Cream Puff' Cedrus deodara 'Deep Cove' Cedrus deodara 'Feelin Blue' Cedrus deodara 'Snow Sprite' Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Treasure Island' Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Barry's Silver' Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Silver Threads' Chamaecyparis nootkatensis 'Glauca Pendula' Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Butter Ball' Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Fernspray Gold' Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Nana' Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Snowkist' Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Cream Ball' Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Curly Tops' Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Filifera Aurea' Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Golden Pin Cushion' Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Lemon Thread' Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Tsukumo' Chamaecyparis pisifera 'White Pygmy' Cryptomeria japonica 'Knaptonensis' Cryptomeria japonica 'Little Champion' Cryptomeria japonica 'Sekkan-sugi' Ginkgo biloba 'Marieken' Juniperus horizontalis Mother Lode Juniperus squamata 'Blue Carpet' Juniperus squamata 'Blue Star' Juniperus squamata 'Holger' Picea abies 'Acrocona' Picea abies 'Aurea Jacobsen' Picea abies 'Gold Drift' Picea abies 'Pendula Picea abies 'Perrys Gold' Picea abies 'Pusch' Picea glauca 'Jean's Dilly' Picea glauca 'Rainbows End' Picea omorika 'Pendula Bruns' or 'Bruns Pendula' Picea omorika 'Peve Tijn' Picea omorika 'Pimoko' Picea orientalis 'Skylands' Picea orientalis 'Tom Thumb Gold' Picea pungens 'Glauca Slenderina Pendula' Picea pungens 'Herman Naue' Picea pungens 'Iseli Snowkiss' Picea pungens 'Lutea' Picea pungens 'Procumbens' Picea pungens 'Rovelli's Monument' Picea pungens 'Sester Dwarf' Picea pungens varietal Glauca Picea pungens 'Walnut Glen' Pinus contorta 'Chief Joseph' Pinus contorta 'Taylor's Sunburst' Pinus flexilis 'Extra Blue' Pinus leucodermis Smidt' Pinus leucodermis 'Banderica' Pinus mugo 'Carstens Wintergold' Pinus mugo 'Moppet' Pinus mugo 'Mops' Pinus mugo Pot o' Gold' Pinus mugo 'Sherwood Compact' Pinus parviflora 'Goldilocks' Pinus parviflora 'Ogon Janome' Pinus strobiformis 'Coronado' Pinus strobus 'Niagara Falls' Pinus strobus 'Sea Urchin' Pinus strobus 'Tiny Kurls' Pinus thunbergii 'Ogon' Pinus thunbergii 'Shirome Janome' Pinus thunbergii 'Thunderhead' Sciadopitys verticillata 'Joe Kozey' Sciadopitys verticillata 'Variegated' Sciadopitys verticillata 'Ossorio's Gold' Taxus cuspidata 'Dwarf Bright Gold' Taxus cuspidata 'Nana Aurescens' Thuja occidentalis 'Rheingold' Thuja occidentalis 'Teddy' Thuja plicata 'Whipcord' Tsuga canadensis 'Summer Snow' Tsuga canadensis 'Vermeulen Wintergold'...See MoreAnother Plan To Chew On
Comments (12)i dont have a lot of time right now.. but my gut tells me.. based on your need for instant gratification.... that you will be spending a lot of money on plants that have the potential to outgrow the space given within a few years ... i am talking conifers here ... e.g. .... i bought a 2 foot.. one gal golden ghost.. and inside 5 years.. i had to remove it at 8 feet and 6 feet wide .... the next year is would have been 10 and 8 .... etc ... you really need to research the annual growth rate of EVERY conifer.. and make your decisions based on that.. NOT est. height and width ... and then add the growth rate to what you predict you will start with ... minus one year to get 'est'd' maybe when i have more time.. i can get you some pix of how that weed grew, once it got going ... ken...See MoreInfo on JM Shaina
Comments (3)It is NOT a mounding tree like a dissectum it just tends to be a bit more twiggy and thickly leafed, dense ( not stupid)...again depending on where you live and it's siting Most put it in the dwarf to semi dwarf vicinity of "acerdom" I think semi dwarf is more correct it is a sport of the Bloodgood with similar color... but not shape or habit...It would be IMHO a semi dwarf upright A.P Palmatum.
