Red Savina Pepper Seedlings Grow Slow?
Comments (4)I'm in Central Maryland...germinated the seeds at the end of February. I may just put them in pots so I can move them back inside when it starts getting cold again. I only planted three and two came up. The other varieties are growing much faster....See Morehow to tell hot pepper seedlings from bell pepper seedlings? Help
Comments (3)Unfortunately, I don't have a way to take pictures (ancient cell phone, no camera). BUT I have noticed today that the plants that were darker in leaf colour have got a stiff spike of what I think must pass for its flowers growing up out of the very top of several of the plants -- I don't remember peppers ever doing that. I'm thinking they might not be peppers at all but weeds? I planted another set of 6 just hot peppers in a container and they have started sprouting (only 6 and only where I put the seeds :). Is it safe to say I can pull out those plants with the funky flower shoot and try again in their place some bells?...See Moreveggie seedlings are growing too tall too fast
Comments (6)I planted tomatillo seeds for the first time this year. My seedlings looked normal (not leggy), but as they started to grow more they grew tall and stalk-like. When I google pictures of young tomatillo plants, that appears to be normal (relative to regular tomato plants, that is). Of course, if your other plants are looking leggy, that's surely a sign of not enough light. It doesn't take any fancy grow light. Even regular room bulbs (5000k color temp) work fine. I've got my seedlings under 3 desk lamps with standard-size 100w-equiv LED bulbs in them, and it seems to be sufficient. (2 tomatillo plants top-center.)...See Moreconserving grow light space with tall thin containers for seedlings?
Comments (4)Honestly I can't think of any stage of the growing process where width of the root zone will be the space-limiting factor instead of width of the canopy. I can't imagine narrow containers will solve a space issue for you unless you were using unnecessarily wide containers previously....See MoreMark
