I wish I could tell you if I had experiences over there. Over here, low chill or high chill doesn't matter, no problem except for the known incompatibility issues. Usually, the higher chill requirement will be imparted unto the lower chill, but not fully. It depends on the specific interaction with the grafted cultivar, so the best is to really try it out. It is good to try it out, you can always regraft if you think it is not working out. The dwarf nectarine could be a genetic dwarf, and it is dwarf because the intrernodes are a lot closer together. Grafting a normal peach unto it, will simply revert back to normal size internodes and you lose the original dwarfing mechanism, unless the rootstock is truly a dwarfing type which I doubt are used for genetically dwarfed peaches or nectarines.

Yea. Definitely NOT the case for my yard. Vista, California has the reputation for having "the best weather in the United States". We have very temperate, even temps. Rarely goes over 90, rarely drops below freezing. And we have about 325 days of sunshine. So, everything grows, and it grows all year 'round. I had to do some SERIOUS summer pruning on both the Minnie Royal and Royal Lee. And, my Blenheim apricot is growing very nicely and staying compact (it is about 5' tall and filling out nicely). Compared to my Autumn Glo Apricot, which is directly across the walkway and I believe also on Citation, and needs serious pruning attention (getting the Felcos out today). It's doing the typical apricot thing here in S. California, and growing at a nuclear rate. So, so much for Citation being dwarfing here. Not. But, it is a good, sturdy, vigorous rootstock, and will make nice trees for me. It just means pulling out the pruners or loppers a little more often. I did fertilize this early summer, and plan on one more application here either today or this week, and was planning on a higher nitrogen app just to help get the canopies in good shape, since these are all 1st year trees with no fruit (except the crazy Anna apple, which will fruit at any given time, at any size, and frequently twice a year here.) I'll snap more pics of the Pick & Walk orchard and post to my previous thread. Things are growing very, very nicely. Even some of my really puny trees are doing very well. Everything is thriving and will make it through the winter, as long as I don't have any underground gopher stealth attacks, or ground squirrels girdling my trees. With 6 bait stations, the ground squirrel issue is pretty much under control. And shockingly, have rarely have gophers (I'm saying that under my breath, so as not to jinx myself.) Patty S.

Do you know which species you have? Is it seed pods you want, or just flowers? I have several bush Allamanda which in some places is listed as A. cathartica and in others A. schotti, but my leaves look different than yours. Mine have been in the ground for two and a half years and are now blooming their heads off, so I'll share my conditions even though I don't know if yours would like the same. I haven't pruned them, have never fertilized them (although the soil was amended when I planted them because it is very poor and limestoney), but mine seem to bloom most with more heat and more water. It's been in the mid-90s since late April here (doesn't usually get that hot until well into July), which is when mine started to bloom heavily (mine bloom year round, but more sparingly in the winter). Then, last month, the rain started and now my plants look like they have more flowers than leaves. They are in full sun, along a wall with southern exposure. If my plants are any indication of what conditions bush allamandas bloom most in, I'm going to guess that your plants are either not getting enough water, not getting enough heat/sun, or you are fertilizing them too much. I hope you figure it out! If it's any consolation, mine would constantly dry out and would hardly flower their first year. It just took mine a year for their roots to grow deep enough to get enough regular water, but now they're my biggest bloomers. Good luck! well, I think I ended up answering my own question - thanks to everyone who posted!! I went back to the nursery where I got the first one, and lo and behold, there was one left that had been tucked away somewhere the last time that I visited. It's kind of got a funky shape, but I think with patience and staking it'll look just as good as the other one. I did notice on both plants that almost every tip has an inflo ... and some of the inflos even have inflos: I've never seen that before!! rcantor - We have only been in this house for a year, so the fruit trees are all inherited. We have a meyer lemon, satsuma mandarin, some other kind of mandarin orange, the fig tree (don't know what kind of figs, but they're so good), a small banana tree, and a pink grapefruit tree. No Clue - To plant or not to plant - that is the question! LOL! I have two other plumeria planted in the raised bed, a Cal Sally and a Guillot's Sunset. The Cal Sal had a really difficult time over the winter, getting black tip or just tip die-back from some cold nights that we had before I covered them both with frost cloths. It's just now waking up. Everyone who was portable went into a greenhouse. I also had to explain to my husband that I didn't want to plant many of my plumeria because I wouldn't want to leave them behind if we moved! freak - that's a good tip about Lowes. I always check the plumeria there, but I wouldn't be surprised if they put a DSP in a different area. I'll keep an eye out!
