mary, that hellebore is very similar to one that I have that was labelled Dark Beauty. I haven't been able to find any reference to it by Googling. It is one of my favorites. I love the way it catches the sunlight, and I love the dark nectaries.

Patrick ~ I deliberately left the "liquid fertilizer" recommendation vague. I have 2 container set-ups for red worms so I get worm tea that I dilute with water. Often I add Maxicrop which is a kelp product. Sometimes I will add a small amount of Miracle Gro. For papaya plants I would use a reduced dose of bloom booster. I do my best to apply some of this to the leaves also. Because of the weight, I can't get the watering can to the top of the plant. The flowers on the Red Lady are self-pollinating so a male plant is not needed. If you are needing a male, then you have something different. I noticed how red the leaf stems are. The first time I grew red lady plants that's how they looked but every year thereafter there is no red. I got all of my seeds from ECHO. I have a friend who bought a red lady from Walmart also. Hers isn't producing very well either. You have an advantage that I don't have - location. My plants get killed to the ground every winter. At least you can grow yours as a perennial. Tomorrow I'll post some photos of the two varieties of papaya plants that I grow. (It's too dark right now to take pics.) Christine

Thanks so much... ...Well yes sort of, it's tied back to the wall, otherwise it would be hanging over the road most likely..... ..the first photos were taken end of May, but it's still going strong, I took this photo 5 days ago... with clematis 'Rooguchi'.. If you like orange, I just think it's a wonderful rose... and healthy without spraying..
