I use the same stuff, you can cut it to size and it will not unravel. I have also found it won't last more than one growing season in spite of it being nylon. It might last more than one season for light plants like beans, but for tomatos, zukes,cukes etc it will start breaking near the end of a season. Not so much it collapses, but enough that you won't want to reuse it.

I was in your shoes a couple years ago and have learned A LOT in that time. The person who replied had some good info..... to add on to it... The cool season crops won't live in the heat of summer. You have to plant them early enough to get a crop before the heat takes out the plants. Most or all of these are frost-tolerant or frost-hardy. Other crops thrive in heat and sun during the summer, but die or are very damaged by any frost.... thus, why you have to plant after the last frost of spring. Some of these crops produce until the first frost of fall (although some stop before then.) The timing of when to plant is part of the art of gardening in your local area. For me, I plant peas, lettuce, carrots, beets and radishes quite early in spring. They start producing in a month or two (depends on the crop) and I can plant other seeds or plants after my last frost in the nearby area......... I know the lettuce can co-mingle with the baby tomato plant because the lettuce will be long gone before the tomato takes over. I know the radishes I can plug anywhere and they will produce within 25 days, give or take..... etc. etc. My summer crops that take up a lot of room (eg, squash, cucumbers, melons, tomatoes) but don't really get large until July or so, are normally planted in the same beds as the above-mentioned coop season crops. I haven't planted bush beans, but I will try to find photos of my pole beans....

One pole(climbing vine) beans that I lik best is "Hyasinth". It starts flowering and producing beans from June till November(right now). It flowers and grows beans non-stop, and attracts bees. What is more is that it has the most beautiful fragrant purple flowers and beans. The beans can be harvested young or left to mature. The color and cluster of the beans also are very pretty. It is perhaps better than some mail box flowers or morning glories(which do not have fruits and the flowers are closed most of the time). This past summer I had another pole beans (orange color), Cypress vine, morning glories, passiflora Incarnata, all climbing on the same arch. I have been most happy with Hyasinth beans than the rest combined. I will not plant Cypress vine next year, although I have so much seeds of it. The passiflora will grow back and I will just plant Hyasinth Pole beans and maybe two wild morning glories(non-lobed leaves), which are much pretier than cultivated ones and flowers grow as a bunch. Back to climbing beans: My all time favorite:Hyasinth.

Thanks a lot for the info. I just needed some confirmation this would work. My strawberry bed is on the end of my potager. I had planed on planting directly in with the strawberries, but since the strawberries had begun to run under the fence, so I tilled just outside this fence end, and ammended the soil. now i will go ahead and the let spill under the fence into this widened area. Now I am going to put the pole beans on the trellis I put over this end of the fence, but plant the pole beaNS at the edge of the berries on the outisde, then someething else at the feet. maybe more bush beans.
