Has everyone recieved all theirNEW iris orders?

I have only ordered a few this year and my yard is new, so I have to start over, and money is a tad tight. So I stuck to $2-$3 price range!( Blue J, Iris Greens) and have recieved some nice rhizomes ALL planted and in the ground!

I only have one more order to come in. I was going to place a order with MountainView but due to heat and drought - no orders! They are such a fine business!

I also couldnt resist a few Iris club sales either!

my last box arrived this week, no time to even open it yet, but this weekend i need to get back to planting after being gone for a couple of weeks. i must confess it was so nice not to always be covered in dirt from head to toe, being clean does have it merits!

I am lucky to have Iris (Versicolor) growing rampantly and wild all over near our cabin. Unfortunately, in one small grove of them (about 4 plants), some ground hornets decided to make themselves at home, so I have to enjoy them from a distance. Also, they tend to bloom at varying times with some blooming in early June, and some not blooming until early July. They are truly one of my favorite flowers, and provide a nice green background for other flowers once they're done.

Hi all... I just placed an order with Iris Greens and cannot wait to get them. I too noticed they have sold out of a lot of their supply so I will order sooner next year... Can't beat their prices! Thanks for having the info here for us. Question: Do any of you have pictures of your Irises displayed here at GardenWeb or other sites? I would love to see your pictures of any/all that you may care to share. I have absolutely fallen in love with irises, especially the pink ones and and the yellows. I wish I knew if my favorite pink ones are the Beverly Sills (I THINK that is what they are), I ordered/planted quite a few irises two years ago and put those metal label thingys in front of them but the info faded away and I don't really know which is which. Some of the shorter dusty/tannish pinks are not favorites of mine as I like true pure tones of pink...I hope the ones I like ARE the Beverly Sills because I just ordered a LOT more of them over at Irish Greens. I hope some of you that KNOW irises could take a look at my web page and let me know here if you think they ARE the Beverly Sills... Carlos, I am amazed at how many iris you have growing on a city lot. It must be a very large lot. You have many on those lists to add to your Schreiner's collection. I also see that you have a large number of Walter Moores iris. I am also a collection of Moores iris and also have a good collection of the older Schreiner's iris. I plan in the near future to get all my Schreiner's and Moores' iris into their own areas. Now they are growing in various iris areas. I have a collection of the Dykes Metal winners. At least I have something growing under all the names. I am not sure anyone knows the true ID of some of the older Dykes winners. I have several different older Dykes iris growing under the same name. I have 20 acres of which 14 could be used to grow iris if I need the space. I have several iris areas that may cover about 2 acres all together. I have several mass planting of older iris(Quaker Lady, New Snow, Wabash, Shah Jehan, Cardinal, Indian Chief). I started with iris 5 years ago and am just now getting enough material to arrange it into different gardens. Lee Mincy

Hey Rita, Boy, can I ever relate to not having much space! I will tell you that I have no choice but to grow iris close together, and they have always done beautifully for me. Right now, in my main bed of iris, there are lots of summer blooming annuals--zinnias and cosmos. Larkspur grows really early here, and my first iris start blooming in late April, so those two looked really nice together. When you see photos from Schreiner's they always have lupines growing with the iris. I grow Sea Power and love it. It is a beautiful flower. Keppel and Joe Ghio have a lot of ruffled iris. Check out Adoregon and Kitty Kay from Keppel and Forever Blowing Bubbles by Ghio. I grew FBB this year and was blown away by its garden presence, and My Beloved looks like an even bigger, more dramatic version, though I haven't ordered it. Good luck, Mike in SC

I've planted my Schreiners order of five, wow, what gorgeously large rhizomes they have! They even had increases already growing on all of them. And I just received my order from Zebra Iris yesterday. I only ordered two must haves off of ebay through them (Anaconda Love and Toucan Tango), and they doubled my order with broken color extras (Heart of Africa and Gnu Again)! So today I've got to figure out where to put two more iris that I just didn't have room for! Plus a friend's grandma gave me 25 unidentified iris that I've already planted so I can't wait to see what colors I'm gonna get over the next few years, how fun!

Well I recieved my last order!I do have to find a place for them. Last week I helped out my iris friend ( Marion/Lostlakefarms) , divide/weed her Iris gardens ( It didnt even put a dent into her beautiful 300+ cultivars )
It has finally rained/ground soft, in New Jersey and I was able to plant most of the iris I recieved from Marion. I have been bordering Iris along our fenced backyard. No real raised beds YET!
Keyword : Yet! I have still have a bit of room, but I am about tired of it! Then; all I have to do is think of the Spring 2007, and I manage to get the shovel back in hand!
It's truly maddness!
