I also have the stunted, crinkled and gnarled iris problem this year. Never had it before. From what I have heard it is probably due to temperature changes at the wrong time. I understand it is not a permanent situation, but it sure is putting a 'crimp' in my bloom season this year! NO pun intended! I doubt I will get decent blooms from these deformed things.

Those are dwarf irises. I would suggest/guess that the tan one with violet beards may be Glitter Bit. Do you have that in your list of possibles?

here's a photo of Glitter Bit I snapped this morning. Hard to tell for sure if this is the same iris or not. :-(

the yellow iris looks like a Aladdins flame or golden violet. I'm not sure what the other one is.

Thanks! Aladdin's flame is my best guess now for the gold iris. The lower petals have a ruffly twisty pointy nature that I don't see as predominantly in the golden violet or glitter bit. (Sorry for the non-technical description!) Also, from pictures on the web, golden violet seems a bit too yellow. My iris is a brownish-gold, similar to the color of brown mustard. Apparently, the golden violet and glitter bit are reblooming, while the aladdin's flame is not. So, if it reblooms that may give me further info...

The purple one, I still have no idea.

Okay, I think the purple one could be "Candy Apple". This iris was planted by the previous owner of our home, and so it would most likely be something that was relatively common (found at a mainstream garden shop) 5-8 so years ago. The nursery link has a good picture. What do you think?

The beard colour is significantly different, even allowing for photographic differences. The falls on CA have a midline stripe rather than a wider wash of darker colour. This could be attributed to age of bloom and light factors while photographing.
The CA in the linked photo has no obvious haft marking. I would think that would be the most conclusive difference, as yours is clearly marked. You are correct to think it is likely to be an iris readily available locally. You also should consider the time of bloom and height of the bloom stalk. These should be fairly consistant for the particular cultivar, in your area.
It might also be worth watching out for it in other peoples gardens for comparrison.
These are 2 pretty little SDB's that you are growing. Why not simply enjoy them without their names?
Spend some time looking at SDB's in catalogues and online and you will soon discover the extraordinary similarity between many named irises.
Photography can also be very misleading, making the same bloom look quite different from a different angle, and 2 vastly different blooms look quite the same.
