Hydrangeas and sun? how much is too much

I have just purchased 2 new plants, well established. One is a lady in red? and the other is a dwarf something or other, with pink flowers and more compact leaves.

I have a few options as far as where to put them. I have a new bed surrounding my deck (that I have cleared and need to expand (width wise)

I have 1/2 whiskey barrels near my garden, one get's full sun all day, the other gets some shade from a nearby peach tree, late in the day.

I can put them in containers on my deck, where they can be shaded about 1/2 the day (later in the afternoon)

Finally I can put them in the ground near my Greenhouse, north facing side, they would be protected from the sun in midday and into the late afternoon

any help would be appreciated.
