H. arborescens vs. paniculata

I have an unknown variety of arborescens that I've had at least 10 years. Every year it blooms well with large white blooms that turn green then ugly brown. It is in partial shade and gets deep watering when nature doesn't provide. I see paniculatas that eventually turn pink and seem to stay attractive for a long time. Do paniculatas just bloom later and that explains why their flowers still look attractive while my arborescens is browning? Or do they last longer?

I saw some newer varieties of paniculata at the garden center and I'd replace this plant if I could get something better. I have a sunny spot I could put one in.

Thanks in advance.

Chris
