I would be willing to trade several daylilies for your iris.......they would be named ones and also would be newer ones, could be bagels, doubles, or even spiders......your choice.....let me know......I have over 250 different,,,,,,my wife wants Iris.... let me know & have a great 4th.... Harry

Adrienne, Even with your good description, it's almost impossible to name a dahlia from a photo unless it's a very obvious variety. I was going to guess Golden Scepter, but only because I've grown it, but your dahlia's petal tips are too pointy. You may end up calling it 3" Yellow NOID, and there's nothing wrong with that as long as you enjoy it. I can't imagine the heartache of hurricane clean up. One relatively minor windstorm here can wreak absolute havoc on gardens/trees etc. Enjoy your little survivor!

It's so good to see more photos from Australia. It drives me crazy how hard it is to find more photos of Blyth irises. I can't even begin to imagine how many great varieties have slipped through the cracks here in America. I think the last count I heard was that Barry's up to 800+ introductions and I probably haven't even seen photos of a quarter of them. I add more every year, but I don't think I'll ever be able to get anywhere near finding all of his intros. let alone buying them. Thank-you so much for sharing with us! Congratulations on your first iris bloom! I think it's iris pseudacorus, the 'yellow flag' iris. It's a beautiful color. Be aware that it can take over a yard if there's enough moisture: it's considered invasive. In the wild it grows at the edges of water. It was the first iris to grow my pond, and I love it. Renee
