Hydrangea PeeGee Problem

lswhite

I have searched and found a couple of topics about this but none of them actually seemed to have the same problem as me. So here goes...

I have four hydrangea peegee trees. They are three years old. Two have had blooms for the last two years, the others have not. That is ok because I figure they will eventually make it.

The problem I am having is that the leaves are turning yellow on them all. Yeah I know, you are all thinking you have answered this question but the ones turning on my trees are not the big beautiful ones on the end of the limbs with the blooms. Those are fine.

It is the leaves near the trunk sort of inside the tree among the smaller top trunks. Most of them are very tiny older leaves but they are all yellow, even the veins.

So what is the problem please? It has been very hot and dry here so I have been watering them probably three times a week and they were not droopy when I watered them.

I need some help please. I don't want to loose all my beautiful hydrangea peegees.

Thanks so very much !!!!

Linda
