I.D. help please

Does anyone know if this is Sagae? When I bought it from a small nursery, the gentleman told me he coudn't remember the name but that it got quite large. All he called it was AE. It grows into a vase-shape and is one of my favorites. That's Rosie's head in the picture. She always has to get in there. Thanks. Marg

Sure looks like a VERY NICE 'Sagae' to me and a very nice 'Rosie', to boot! I have two pooches that
are camera 'hams', too!

But--I'll have to think more about that AE possibility!!'

Looks like it to me....at this stage it should be about 3 feet tall...is is?

Mikes the bug is a wolly mealy bug. The plant is in a pot I assume.......maybe post in on the citrus forum as there are a lot of people there that grow in pots. I have 15 citrus in the ground and have never seen leaves do that so I would just be guessing at the cause. Here is a link that might be useful: Citrus forum

Nice. A free neomarica caerulea. Your iris will make new irises is you let the flowers touch the soil. They are called 'walking irises' or 'apostle plant' sometimes. The flowers get heavy and fall to the ground, then they send out roots. Once they are established, you can cut the rooted plant off of the parent and you have a perfect copy. Renee

Looks like Haworthia cooperi. Most of the leaves don't look so happy to me. All of the pictures I've seen have very green leaves, like your new growth. But I don't have one, so what do I know? Hopefully Kevin (ewwmayo) will drop in. He grows lots of Haworthias and will surely know if they are healthy or not. Okay, I'm back and the only possibility of anything with similar coloring and leaf ripple
and being 'AE' is 'American Eagle' but yours just looks too much like my 'Sagae', to be the other, IMO!

A VERY NICE 'whatever' you have!!!

I have just gotten a copy of Zilis Hostapedia. Great book. I looked through it and I thought it was Sagae. It didn't hit me till later (the idea not the book) that AE are the last two letters in the name Sagae. Maybe that's all of the name the grower could remember. Lindac, the hosta is only about 2 1/2' right now but then I have just had to divide it, it was getting very large. I ended up with 3 plants out of it. Thanks for confirming what I thought. Marg
