There is an area in our subdivision that needs landscaping and these would be a great addition. I have Red Dragon Persicaria I could dig for you, in addition to the other things on my list. Also dug today was Geranium 'Vision Pink" which has stayed pretty low and spreads, White/yellow siberian irises and Half Magic Iris.

On the morning after the tornadoes hit Atlanta, I drove over to East Atlanta with some neighbors for GGG's church plant sale, which had been cancelled. From there we went to her house to make sure she was ok. I've never seen such a frightening scene of devastation and destruction. In the midst of the chaos stood GGG's beautiful purple house, virtually untouched, but the implications were heartstopping. I would like to suggest that instead of our regular spring plant trade on April 19th, we volunteer to meet at GGG's house for a cleanup day of her backyard. Anyone who wants to bring plants to trade with each other could still do that, but I think it would be really great if we got together to pitch in and help with whatever is ready to be done in GGG's yard at that time. I would imagine that might be cutting up felled trees and branches, moving soil and rocks around, rebuilding garden beds, planting new trees and shrubs, for example. Those who are unable to do heavy work could offer moral support and carry glasses of sweet iced tea to the workers. I have not mentioned this to Glynis. But if she's agreable and thinks it would be helpful, what would everyone else think?

If you missed the plant swap,I'm sorry for you!! It was great. Beautiful plants, good food, and the opportunity to renew old acquaintances and make new ones. Time to start thinking about the Spring Swap. Can I ask for some help? I got a varigated Ginger, and one person told me I could leave it outside,well mulched;another said it would die.HELP!!

I have a bunch of Datura stramonium seeds to trade for plants & seeds for those who intend to plant them. Datura stramonium is an extremely powerful plant and I will not exchange with those who do not intend to take the time to thoroughly respect and understand this plant. Also I have a sizable fig tree I need to move and don't really know where to put it...cuz it is near the house and the house needs new siding and painting...so I could truck this out for someone not far from me (I am in Yonkers). I suppose it is possible someone out there may be silly enough to trade for my few not special plants I have hanging around the yard. This stuff I can get rid of include: Yellow archangel ground cover, vinca (purple)ground cover, some iron clad hostas (by iorn clad I just mean deer and bugs don't really bother with them), lily of the valley ground cover, I suppose I could dig up some forsythia, I also have a hydrangea I have been tying to get give away for years. I could throw in some daffodils and crocuses. I also an upright (I suppose the word is vastigate) apple (not sure of var) which seems to take well to cuttings attempts.
