Lovely photos, lovely plants. However, the LINKED photos did not show up at Photobucket. Just a blank where photo supposed to appear. Don't know why, cannot imagine.

You made some good choices, get em all! They will grow nicely for you.

I like the way the tall white containers display the Wheaton Blue and Yankee Blue. They make a good pair.

Thanks Moccasin. Which photos are missing? Also I have only placed the nursery pots inside of the ceramic one for now. I might leave them like that; I will see if they are happy.

What is an average canner load? An average canner load is 7 quarts, 8-10 pints depending on the jars used. That is what most of the approved recipes are based on. Would a smaller canner work inside my home on my electric range? The Presto 23 quart will work inside (or outside) and most electric coil burner stoves. With the canning element that Carol mention it works even better. The smaller presto 16 at. will work on most all non-glasstop stoves and will work on some of them. Glass top stoves are problematic to say the least, for several reasons. So what is the size canner most people use indoors? I want an AA, this canner purchase will be my last Presto 16 or 23, AA 915 or 921. Can't swear to it but I think it is safe to say there are more Presto's in use than AAs. If not more then at least as many. It is your choice of course but don't buy into all the AA hype. I have both brands, several of us here do, plus I have an older model Mirro. They all have pros and cons but both the Presto and the AA will equally out live most of us. The only real concern is that you get a canner size (not a cooker). It must be able to hold a minimum of 4 quart jars for processing to qualify as a canner. That means a Mirro 12 qt. (tho not recommended), a Presto 16 qt. or an AA 915. Like Linda Lou said many of us have Presto canners that are still going strong after 20-30 years and with minimal if any problems. Wife and I have extensive gardens and we easily can 100's of quarts of vegetables and meats annually. We do most of our pressure canning outside on propane. We use all 3 canners and both agree that we prefer our Presto's as they are lighter weight, easier to lift and tote although still quite heavy, easier to seal and unseal, and their weights are easier to monitor than either the AA or the Mirro. The salesman intially said the demonstration would take an hour. 3 hours later they were still at my house, convincing me to purchase this vaccuum. Dont get me wrong this was an amazing Vacuum!!! However the salesman had no concerns that i most likely couldnt afford this vaccuum. He had all these different priced plans, advising the price would normally be 3000.00, however he would bring it down to 2500.00 with fewer payments. He could see that i was still struggling to figure out how i was going to finance this vaccuum, He appeared to be making phone calls to head office to bring the price down and at the last minute bought it down to 2000.00 After calcluating the interest, it ended up costing 3000.00 anyway. My main problem with this is that it felt rushed. I couldnt find 3 forms of ID and desperately wanted him to leave after 3 hours and done a stupid thing like sign the forms just so they could leave. He didnt care that i didnt have ANY form of ID, he didnt care that i didnt know my bank account number, he advised as long as i purchased and signed on the dotted line, then everything else would fall into place. He advised he couldnt come back again as this needed to be done asap. They also took my old vaccuum with them. Everything seemed dodgy, and i had my kids running around hungry so i felt extremely pressured. After they left i sat down looking at this machine thinking what the hell have i purchased??!!! I looked around on websites like trademe (nz) and found other types of machines at the price of 500.00. By this time i was pissed! I immediately called headoffice and cancelled the order and they advised someone would call me to inform me of cancellation procedures. The next day after work these two guys came over again. (no call or notification to say they were coming) They were standing asking me why i wanted to cancel the machine STILL trying to convince me that there is no other like this. They even had the nerve to sit inside and say they called head office and they would lower the price another 200.00. I ended up telling them to take their vacuum and leave my house. I asked them where my original vaccuum was and they asked me what colour it was? I told them to leave and advised them to bring back my original vaccum or else i would make a complaint and slammed the door. 5 days later i still havent recieved my old vaccuum. This whole ordeal was a horrible experience for me and these salesmen were dodgy as!!! Never again

Well, not as many pics as I thought but it shows the chair's construction well. The first pic is taken after I removed the glued on piping. You can see that they used upholstery tacks to hold the fabric onto the frame. Pulling the fabric away from the tacks you see the layer of cotton felt batting and the foam cushion. I couldn't find the cotton felt locally. The foam was dried and crumbling...what a mess! I had wanted to use the foam for a template but it was in pieces and powdered. Take the chair apart outside or in a space that you don't mind getting dirty. Here are the springs under the foam. A real upholsterer would also remove these and the webbing underneath, redo the webbing, sew the springs into the webbing, tie the springs together and tack onto the chair frame. Next time I'll do it the right way. The bulk of my time was spent removing the old tacks alternating between tack lifter and screwdriver. I traced out the shape of the frame onto the foam (2 in high density) and cut it to fit with an electric knife. This also took some time. It's the shape of the end product so you want to get this right. I lay dacron over the foam to soften the edges. Through error I found that you don't want it to fall below the area you are tacking into. Cutting a notch in the front and back of the fabric and centered on the design, you lay the fabric on top and hammer a tack halfway in on each of the four sides. While tacking you pull the fabric taut making sure the weave is straight. When I had it the way I wanted, I tacked starting in front moving from the center. Then went to the back, removed the temporary tack and pulled taut again. Starting in center and moving outward, tacking the fabric. Same with the sides. I cut notches in the fabric where it had to fit around the arms of the chair. This is just folded and tucked into the area and tacked into the frame on either side of where the arms meets the seat frame. This area is tacked last. Check to make sure tacks are all hammered in. Cut excess fabric off close to the tacks and then glue on your trim to hide tacks. I had books to reference, which was VERY helpful.

What gorgeous sinks, Lesterd! Just what I needed. Another obsession. ;-) Love that lampshade, Loribee! It's so fresh and pretty! Last night I fell asleep dreaming of waking up this morning and heading to the paint store. I dreamt of transforming my living and dining rooms with a soft, clear green on the walls. When I got up this morning and padded into the front room with my coffee, even though I was still bleary-eyed from sleep, I had to admit my dreams were only that ... dreams. What I have going on now just works, all the way around. The wall color goes with the new drapes (which reminds me, I need to post pics of the new drapes!), plays well with the rug, blends nicely with the throw pillows and artwork and other accessories. I have made some very minor additions to the living room that seem to soften and feminize it a bit. New lace panels on the fireplace-flanking windows, a little old English teapot that I picked up for fifty cents at a yard sale last week, an old (1950s) metal tray from England with a floral design, vintage orange(!) gingham pillows on the sofa. This morning it dawned on me that it's starting to feel like a very eclectic space, and I like that. I'm focusing on adding more soft touches to our guest room. Just bought a duvet from an Etsy seller (white with sweet, scattered hibiscus on one side, reversing to cabana stripes in sherbet shades on the other), and am going to be replacing a couple of prints with vintage botanicals. I also feel like decluttering in there a bit, as there's just too much going on at the moment. I originally decorated that room with sort of a beachy/tropical theme - and I still like the tropical thing but want to take it in more of a floral direction and less of a beachy one. One last indication that my "old tastes" are still ever-present: This morning I stopped by a neighbor's yard sale and couldn't walk away without buying the antique framed painting of a Native American man. There's part of me that's still very much drawn to the images of the southwest U.S. and Mexico - and the darker and/or more intense colors that are attendant to that style. I'm becoming more and more convinced that what I have is a split personality. But I'm choosing to call that eclectic. Oakley, I want to see those shoes! :-)

Raspberry Sundae is huge! L. Surfrider is such a nice blue and shape.
What can I say? I love them all! :-)

Hosta therapy is better than any other retail therapy I know of, bar none!

Nice haul, Paula! You'll find room, don't worry.... really loving the Dream Queen - it's been on my list for 2 years, I don't know what the heck I'm waiting for. This year for sure! Good luck with your new babies.

Josephine, it is a combination of a few places that I have been to this spring:

Lakeside Surf Rider - Goldenbrook Hostas
Raspberry Sundae - Greenbank Garden Centre
Sparkler - was also at Greenbank. I thought the size was good on this one, too. I don't mind paying a bit extra for bigger hostas but it was only $12.99. RS was $22.99 but I had to have it.
Dream Queen - WalMart $6.97 (shhhhh) - I will keep it separate which is easier to do now that I have to use pots.

Ditto on that Raspberry Sundae. I'm going to have to move my puny one that I've had for three years.

Your Lakeside Cindy Cee may be small now, but it is an awesome hosta, and a pretty good grower.

I swore I was done buying hostas last year, but I've managed to get a few more than a few already this year. I was good today, I bought shoes and clothes instead of hostas!

Awesome, Paula. Great choices. I'm glad you can get those locally. My area has the worst local vendors. Probably garden centers in Phoenix, AZ have better/more hosta choices than around here.
