Showing off!

My ssp. carnosa had a lot of buds last August but, perhaps it didn't like staying indoors, it shed all of them! So I moved it outside into the shade-house and it was budding again! Here's one of the peduncles with the buds thus far:

And the buds on my sp. flat stem is growing strong:

Finally, my ordinary carnosa has opened up:

Wow, I'm so blessed! Thanks for letting me show off my babies!

Xuan, very nice pictures and hoyas. Hopefully you see flowers soon on the first othere flowers.

I'vebeen putting pictures everywhere. I just reduced a mess of plants. Now I have more room for the ones I really want to keep and play with. I'm excited to have more room. I need more pots and medium. Goodbye, large pot of Hahnii! Goodbye, Gold Flame. (I kept a plant and offset.) I reduced others, as well. I'm going to make a big pot of this Hahnii. I will once it's completed. I'm waiting for the island lights for the final effect. I met a designer years ago who said why match anything?--Make your design as if you picked this piece up at the Paris flea market and that was from the market in Marrakesh. I have traveled all over the world and have some fun things. I think the end result will be nice but I haven't gotten far with the furniture yet. I'm going to tie it all together by looking for colors that work together. For example, the Mexican tile and recycled glass should blend into the colorful Moroccan carpets I'll put in the living room, dining room, and niche. Throw in some insane Roche Bobois sofas and it will either be amazing or hurt people's eyes. I just know I'll love it.

I love that photo of Shores of Time! I don't remember you posting it much in the past. Is it new to you, or did you move the one you had to a better place. I need to move my Shores to a better place this year? I moved it two falls ago, and drat - now it's in too much shade again. I love the name Rumba Numba! LOL The flower looks pretty good too. The colors on Ledgewood's Pansy Eye Grab me. I imagine it will open flatter later in the day. Empire of Desire is showing great carving and lot of buds. Yours looks more gold than mine. Maybe mine is just always a bit thirsty. Debra

Beautiful flowers!

I have a couple of hoyas that if I look at the buds while they are very young/developing, the buds fall off within a day or two. Now I know to nonchalantly walk by and glance at the plants out of the corner of my eye to see if they're producing buds from the spurs. Once the buds get to a certain point, it doesn't matter if I look at them. I know this sounds crazy, but it has happened too many times for it to be coincidence.

Is that so?!?! Well, maybe I should act like you and try to "ignore" the buds - which is so hard LOL! Actually, I scrutinize my plants (all plants hoyas included) every day in search of new things (roots, leaves, buds, spikes... etc). It is one of my 'rituals' LOL.

But, thanks. Who knows, it could really be the cause!

Now that is just downright gorgeous! How often does that happen - multiple umbels of blooms opening at the same time???

Gorgeous Xuan! I love when that happens! The only hoyas where I have multiple umbels opening at once are lacunosa, multiflora, wayetii, kenejiana, and acuta. And boy do they put on a show!

I often have this happen to my plain carnosa and krimson queen. And you know it, not only it looks pretty, it smells owesome, too! My small living room is filled with the sweet aroma every evening and the smell lingers during the day, too.
