It probably needs more water. It can happen when the roots get too dry and start to die back, so it's not taking up water. Is it a large plant?

You just bought the H. tsangii didn't you? How many leaves are doing this? As I recall it is a small cutting, was it rooted when you got it? It could just be normal stress related to the change of environment/shipping etc. Or it could be they haven't rooted. I have one that is quite large. I bought it as a full hanging plant (EA) from Lowes. Even tho it was full, I think it was a basket full of unrooted cuttings. I say this b/c when I examined the plant a lot of the stems would pull out of the soil very easily. And some of them were curling inward and would eventually die.

I tried to root some for my sis and they did the same thing. I haven't had any success rooting them after several attempts.

Denise it's a cutting that I got from Rob's. It's very small. Should I repot it? I would do anything that's going to make it better.

Maid~ Yes, it was the cutting that I got not too long ago, but I have not repot it, it is still in the little pot it came in. Please, I don't want this plant to die on me, I am very sensitive to my plants dying.

Is the cutting rooted or unrooted? If you just received a cutting and potted it up without roots, it probably hasn't formed roots yet. In order to propogate the cutting, you need to give it lots of humidity, indirect light, and make sure you pot it in a very small pot, especially since you said it's a small cutting (I'd use a 2-3 inch pot...you can even use a small plastic solo cup with holes poked in the bottom). Also, if you have a heat mat, that will help a lot.

Once you have the cutting in a pot of chunky soil mix, here's what I do to root cuttings: moisten the soil, place the whole pot in a large ziplock bag, spritz the inside of the bag with either plain water..or better yet use water with VF-11, and then close the bag. Place the bag on a saucer/tray and place the saucer/tray on a heating mat (if you have one). Spritz the inside of the bag every 2-3 days. Once the cutting gives some resistance when tugging gently, it's probably rooted and you can gradually lessen the humidity by opening the bag, and then taking the whole pot out of the bag a few days later.

This is natural for Hoya DS-70 (what most people have mislabeled as tsangii) and is nothing to worry about as long as your plant in well rooted. You can try watering a little more but the edges of the leaf on this species are just naturally curled under. This Hoya is reported to be difficult to root and I know mine was slow to grow from a cutting. This is one of the Hoyas that likes regular water so maybe all you need to do is increase the frequency that you water this particular plant.

grabo : Im guessing is rooted. The reason I say I'm guessing is, because it came in soil. I did not root it myself, so I guess that is the reason why I did not know what was going on with it.

Mike: Thank you for the explanation, I will water a little more frequently. I am a little new to any tipe of hoya, but I think with time I will get the hang on how to grow them.
