She Is Just Plain Beligerant!

After going through a hummerless spring, I now have a regular visitor. Saturday was rainy and I spent a lot of time reading on the patio. She visited at least 10 times, feeding primarily on B&B and other potted salvias. Another hummingbird approached a few times, but was attacked and run off until they were out of site. She also attacks butterflies and the hummer moths. Occasionally she attacks the seed feeder and can chase off entire flocks of finches. She'll fly all the way to the top of a mature fir to drive off the cardinal that likes to sing from there. She has no fear of the cat, who seems to ignore or fear her. Her persistance is amazing, but of course, also frustrating. Even though my attractant plants are spread across my yard, no other hummer can approach.
