Hmm, now I wonder...1st saw these on blueberries (near woods so that makes sense for BP), then TCB but not bad infestation, just went out to scout/pick squash bug eggs off my zukes and found more of the webby stuff and 1 bug that jumped away on a zuke. The veggies are fairly close to the berries (50ft?) and really close to woods on north side, are these still likely to be BP that got lost ;-) or something else? Still figure the insecticidal soap should work. might as well use it on the squash (and cukes, found a striped cuke beetle on the zuke and a couple SVB moths on the cukes - I guess I have equal-opportunity pests LOL). Just wondering if maybe it is leafhoppers (or something else) after all?

Nancy: I was holding out on this one.lol I kept this one much warmer than the others. One side did open a more peachy color, but that side was closest to the walls of the greenhouse. The other side was facing center of the greenhouse where it is always warmer. It must be difficult for those that live in cooler areas to bring them to this color without sticking them in a location that stays above 70 every day, sheesh. Thank goodness for my greenhouse. They are not frail just small and they come from a different growing condition than the ground where you find a seedling. If you start the seedling inside you don't plant it outside when the first leaf appears. They are small so differences in temperature and moisture have more effect because they are closer to the surface. A pest that would take a bite out of a big plant eats the whole small plant.

Hey Les the yellow is most likely a cull planted with the original plant, not all that uncommon on Summer Breeze. I have visited large hosta nurseries that grow in 8" gallons and they were clueless to the solids coming up with the originals, cut it out and plant it is the best thing to do. Since i have been in the TC business (receiving end) for a lot of years, we have planted single and double sprigs of cultures directly in the cell, but planting 3-5 in a cell will conflict with the other plants. Even if there is 1 crown. I have also noticed "stunting" in the growth of a packed cell. Its almost like continuing the BAP process(growth hormone) once it comes out of the lab. We prefer doubles here, that helps us with inventory and provide customers with a better plant with good growth quicker. The only way (in my opinion) to gain divisions and more maturity quicker is to plant several TC plants in the same container AFTER the lab process is over. Ed
