Some Fall Daylily Pics (Pics)

Well, as fall aproaches, most of my daylilies are growing roots and giving me some increase. It has been so lovely here lately. High 70's in the days, 50's at night. But, as those of you that have ordered from Maryott's in the past know, Bill includes some magic bloom dust on those plants he ships. So, I thought I would share what is blooming now. Can you believe it??? NOVEMBER?

How lucky to have blooms so late!They are beauties. PP's edge does remind you of popcorn,doesn't it?

I still have a good many of Bill's trying to bloom, but it is so cool at night they aren't opening fully.

Thanks for the pics, and yes we know Bill sprinkles with fairy dust...the only possible scientific explanation for November daylily blooms.

OOH, Thanks for the tips, Mike! My garden is surrounded by huge apt. buildings, so I get a lot of shade at wierd moments because of the shadows, so most of my "full sun" is in the afternoon.. I'll have to watch where I put lime rickey, then. Sure, dreaming.. come raid my garden. Hahhaaha It's so tiny, it'd be really easy to get through it quickly.. every time I buy a new daylily, I have to think of a brilliant way to explain to my husband why I need another container of dirt.. "uh.. no.. this uh..daylily just magically appeared, and yes.. I have no idea where there is another inch for dirt, but!! *beams cheerfully* I'm sure I can *cough* *cough* find a spot..somewhere* *wills husband to not look out window and see already crammed-full area*

waitingforspring - I think you are right that my NOID is Fairy Tale Pink. Wow! And I've had this 2 years and I ordered FTP last year and it will bloom for me this year so I can compare them to each other. I can't believe I ordered something I already have.

Beautiful Steve! I have one 50 year old spring blooming camelia that I inherited when I bought my house, but seeing your fall blooming ones may cause me to include 1 or 2 fall blooming in my garden.I know Fairweather gardens has a good selection. Where did you purchase some of yours? I saw the fencing around a few of your smaller plants-protection from rabbits? Leslie

I too have some from Bill that have been blooming and some still putting up scapes. I had twin blooms on Soul On Fire a few days ago, but didn't think to get a photo. I was so busy getting my new beds done and doing some brickwork in one of them. There's still several buds on it and scapes on several others.
Yours are so pretty...isn't it great to have blooms so late?

I have never been the biggest "pink" person, but BALLERINA BEAUTIFUL is beautiful, just as her name implies!! They are all so nice, and thanks for more pics to look at, especially in November! Woohoo for the Fairy Dust! LOL Jan G.

Wow! I like them all, but Ballerina Beautiful is something else!! I too still have scapes and buds, but am in the same boat with the partway opening. Due to the cool temps if they get past about 1/4 open I am lucky.

It's still great to see pics of others who still have lovely flowers!

What a wonderful treat for November. They are all exquisite, especially considering they are so new to your garden. I almost ordered Ballerina Beautiful from Bill and after seeing your picture, I am really sorry I passed on it. Next year! I pinched off all the scapes from my Maryott's fall order, assuming the scapes would not have time to grow and bloom. I am delighted that others of you are getting blooms. Thanks for sharing your beauties.

Thanks all!! It IS wonderful to have blooms this late. I got another surprise this afternoon, as another bloom on Popcorn Pete popped open... I thought it was going to be tomorrow, because this morning, he wasn't open. But, I think the cool weather is keeping them closed longer, but also open longer. My bloom on How Sweet It Is from yesterday is still looking beautiful today.

Velvet - welcome!! Just wait until spring and you see all the lovely gardens here. You'll need a bib.
