unable to upload images to photobucket?

Hi All, have been unable to upload images to photobucket? keep getting an error message. so am going to try Mydaylily.com web site to see if it is any easier?

Have lots of daylilies flowering though unable to post? allan

are you a paying member? i haven't been able to upload them either and i don't pay for it.

Well, I just tried it as I hadn't tried for a week or so. They have changed it for free accounts apparently so that it is more difficult and much more obnoxious. ( those stupid ads pop up when you upload and you have to stop them.Ugh!)
But the pictures uploaded w/ no problem. ( I think) Let's try posting them....

So open your album and in the top center, you will see a sign that says "upload now." Upload from your computer the same way you've always done except that the obnoxious ad automatically opens. Then once it's uploaded, hit the HTML code and paste. Hope this will work for you!

After logging in, click the green 'upload now' button. Then select 'upload from my computer' then you'll get another green button to select photos and videos. I tried the 'bulk uploader which did not work for me, but I was able to upload 65 images the normal way.

heck I would just quit using photobucket and start using one of the many many other free sites that are better than photobucket and have no limits. If you have pics already on then then use your daughters pc to move them from photobucket to the other hosting site. ok just noticed in all of this you have not told us what browser you are using to try to access you photobucket account, if you do not have firefox go get firefox and try it using that browser and see if you can do it that way. Let us know what browser you are using, the photobucket site may have somehow got put in your restricted list on the browser, we have to know which one to tell you how to look. Get firefox. super easy to do just download it and follow the install wizard, when it ask if you want to import your settings and bookmarks from IE say yes to all of that, you do not have to make it the default browser, the first time you open firefox it will take you to the firefox home page to let you know it downloaded properly, after that it will open to what ever was your home page on IE. Just a thought do you have all of your flash updated? I mentioned to you in the other thread you have on here about using the secunia tool to make sure you have everything else on your pc up to date since you said you had not updated java in years, if you have not updated flash and other stuff you can have problems and it makes you wide open to infections, go run that scan and make sure you have everything up to date!! and I would definitely run a malwarebytes free scan too, I gave you that info on the other thread also. You copy the html tag under the picture on photobucket and past it in your gardenweb post where you want the picture to appear then go back to photobucket.com and copy the html code from another picture and paste it where you want in in your gardenweb post and continue for as many as you want to post.

Now that you know how to do it, be judicious in applying it. When you do it, you're stealing bandwidth. Most commercial sites have plenty of bandwidth and since you're advertising their wares, they're okay with you appropriating the image (which is technically a copyright violation whether you put it in your Photobucket account or not). Photobucket is setup specifically for sharing, so linking something from a public Photobucket account, or your own, is what they're there for. Nowadays, Photobucket also allow you to save an image from the web in one step, rather than having to save it locally and then upload it back to the web. Sometimes people will post an image from a small time page and the owner will trace it back here wondering what all the hits were about. Every time the thread with the image gets opened, the originating website registers a hit. These are people who get very touchy if we're criticising them (including criticising them for appropriating images from one of us!), though sometimes they're happy to have us discussing them and wish we'd actually click over to their sites. I used to make my images clickable so they'd take you to the Amazon page, or whatever, where it could be found, but since Photobucket, among others, insert a link to their home page in your picture code, I stopped bothering because people would think it would just take them there, and I wasn't about to bother with a tooltip.

I'm not sure what you were struggling with.

I'm also on a free account. I just uploaded 99 seedling photos in one batch and it was so much easier than it used to be. Just a couple of clicks to select them all and start the upload. Then I could add titles while they were uploading. It was faster and fewer clicks. I didn't have a popup interfere (but I block those through my browser settings anyway).

I just uploaded a few photos from our trip to NYC during Thanksgiving. I didn't use the bulk uploader and I got alot of errors for photos not loading.

What I noticed different is if I uploaded to a generic album, ie PJFarm and then wanted to move them all to a new album specific to what the pictures pertain to, it use to open a window which would allow me to either move to another existing album or create a new one. I noticed it didn't allow me that option of creating a new album this time. I had to create the new album and then move all the photos. A two step process instead of just 1 step. Maybe I missed something?

I also have ad blocker for Firefox but there is an ad streaming when you upload. Can't figure out yet how to turn off the volume yet.

If you work out how to turn off that racket whilst uploading please please share. I keep forgetiing to turn off my speakers.

jetak: If you use the "Bulk Uploader" there is no streaming video with sound to annoy you.At least, not when I've used it.

Hi All,
It's been awhile since I stopped in. I was having trouble too. I suspect that they changed something (again). I was unable to upload any images and I have a paid premium subscription. Only after I began using this new laptop was I able to upload again. I believe the error message had sopmething to do with Java something or other. This new computer seems like it is in tune with it. It could be you need to do an update. I am notorious for not updating programs I don't feel are important.

Now back to the posts!

I don't know what the specific problem is, but I found that I can upload pictures using MS Internet Explorer, but not with Firefox or Google Chrome. I don't like using IE, but I keep it there for this kind of problem.

I put on well over 1000 images over the weekend using IE (old habits die hard). They were put on a portable hard drive from my old computer. I used the new computer to losd them up. Here is one of the new ones...

Yes it was from 2009, I was a little backed up!

i can no longer copy and paste my images from photobucket.Are others having this problem?

No, I has having trouble copying the HTML tags before I switched over to this new computer (but it's one click copy on them again), but not copying photos. I did copy some from various albums for a project I am working on and to print photos of it worked fine.
