That's a great red color on that first one!
I'm curious to see your Christmas Celebration as I had that one and it never bloomed, then vanished to wherever disappearing daylilies go lol

Pretty ones, Kay! Blooms in Oct. are always appreciated. I only have two left that are reblooming now - ALPINE MIST and HOW SWEET IT IS.

Good for you Kay. I have one scape I am protecting with a pillar in hopes it will bloom before the cold gets here and making sure the deer don't eat it up which is why I have a pillar over it. lol!! The things we do for our lilies. Judy

Great Kay. This weather is really stretching our season and I love still seeing daylily pics , as well as other garden plants.

Thank you all for looking. I have daylilies in several areas, and I am working in the yard (somewhat madly) trying to beat cold weather. I was pulling up a few huge zinnias that were mostly dead, and so came across the SC Behavior Patterns that was blooming! And Christmas Celebration is pretty close to it. CTC, it bloomed for the first time this year, so I too am looking forward to CC blooming.

Judy, I hope you can keep your blkoom from the deer.

Kathy, you have had a lot of beautiful blooms this year.

Julia, I love to see everyone's blooms too. It cheers me up when not much is happening in the garden.

We have been so dry this year that it's a wonder I didn't lose a lot of plants.

Those all three look great. Your zinnias are dead already? Mine are still going strong with no end in site. Of course a frost would stop them but they look like they want to bloom forevever. A great year for zinnias here this year.

Enjoyed seeing your pictures, Kay. Isn't it neat that Octoberfest bloomed in October--think it knows something? LOL. We just had a bloom on Final Touch. It was so small, it could have been listed as a mini, but we were impressed that it would still be trying so hard to bloom. Avedon

Those holes in MEDICI PALACE used to be just one hole when it was a bud.

I had one earlier this year (picture is in a different thread) that a piece of weed eater twine went through when it was a bud, and the next day when it opened, it had three holes and a little piece of green nylon sitting in the middle. It was a good reminder to wear safety goggles when weed whacking.

Rita. the zinnias are stupidly rapid bloomers and prolific reseeders. The first ones to bloom that are about 4 1/2 feet tall start dying if it doesn't rain and I don't water them...No need to water since new seedlings come up all summer and fall, and start blooming so fast. (I have too many daylilies and roses to water to waste it on zinnias) The iris bed, the one I have pulled so many seedlings out of since mid September? Look at this...they keep on reseeding and some of them are almost ready to open already:

Avedon, I was suprised that Octoberfest bloomed again so late, but it is one that I like. I imagine some perfect set of circumstances that will never be repeated led to all the rebloom this year...maybe the intense heat and the rare rains along with a different fertilizing schedule. Who knows? but I have really enjoyed it.

You are so right about the safety glasses and weedeating. One odf my coworkers was using a weed eater this summer, and although he was wearing glasses, they weren't safety glasses, and the weed eater threw sand in his eyes and damages the corneas...he recovered from the accident, but he was off from work and had to see specialists to achieve recovery.

So nice to see blooms so late in the season. Not much is blooming here anymore except for the carnations and asters. Seems like we didn't have a summer this year as it rained so much. Lots of green but not so much bloom in my yard. Oh well. Always nice to see other's pics and share what is going on south of the border. :)

wow Kay. them daylilies are vey pretty. love that first one snd that deep red.octoberfest is really pretty, too. geez, what are you feeding them plants?You must bw feeding them some thing every day to get that much rebloom, but, isn't it great to have lots of reblooms and have the daylilies last longer.

It's nice to see some blooms in October. And two out of the three are opening well. Buttered Popcorn is all I have reblooming here.

How wonderful to still be having new blooms! I got back from a week away, recovered enough to try to catch up on some of the threads here, & was amazed to see you still have scapes. I still have a few blooms on Wilson Spider & CAribbean Eye Spy, and am amazed at those. But they have been blooming for a couple of weeks. You have had a really great year for reblooms.

Ginny, the main water mine got came from the hose...we had a very drought-ridden summer. Time after time it rained all around us and we were dry. I did water, though.

Jean, I fertilized in the springtime before they bloomed, mostly with organic type enrichments like alfalfa and fish emulsion. I gave them some fish emulsion in August, I think it was...they were at the end of blooms then, I thought, and I wanted to give a little back to the soil more than the plants...they have had no actual fertilizer since early spring. Just a fluke of nature.

Debra, I have never had re-blooms in October before...I am enjoying it. SC Behavior Patterns had one spent bloom on it when I noticed the one in the picture blooming.

Nancy, I have been spoiled by all the rebloom...it will probably never happen again, but I have enjoyed it. Post some pictures. We are all desperate for bloom pics.
