That is neat about yesterdays flower on Tropic Embers still looking decent today. One Day at a Time is my favorite and the little roses are very pretty.

Tropic Embers evidently likes a cooler climate, but better mulch that Carpenter evergreen.

Lisa: I also found that when the weather dipped to cooler temps here this week blooms seemed to hold more. Never heard of carrot fungus. Does it come from the compost you use?
One of the doubles I got this spring has over 4 scapes with buds. I keep checking to see if any opened but nothing yet.

It probably isn't called a carrot fungus, I just call it that because the first time I saw one 5 years ago, I first thought someone (or squirrel) had stuck a baby carrot into the ground. I have wondered if they come from the mulch-but for years only showed up in one area of the yard. This year it has been scattered. They only last one day, then they are dead the next.

I think the fungus is so cute lol. If I could purposely grow any in the world, it would be Indian Pipe. I saw one hiking in Pennsylvania (I was hiking, not the Indian Pipe lol) and I was almost breathless. :)

Well, it is kind of cute, but not when you don't want it. I can identify with that. The daylilies look very pretty.

Nice double bloom that held over. I really like the dark eye on One Day at a Time. The fungus is kinda cute,and I can see why you call it carrot fungus.

The fungus is my pick! LOL! I think all the colors & forms that fungus come in are really interesting.
