Greywoods Farm Order...

Hi All,

Whew I have been busy planting!! Marriots and most of my Lily Auction plants came this week... lots of digging!! :o)

I just wanted to post here real quick about Greywood Farms in Massachusetts. I ordered two plants from them that I have been wanting FOREVER(you'll see why), and they finally had enough for me to buy... They sent me HUGE clumps of their plants, PLUS one of their most expensive and recent intros!! What a great place!!

Oh my goodness!! They are all really pretty...but the bonus you got is incredible!! I do love the purples and bright corals and reds.....heck, I love all the colors, but the brights and strong hues with the big eyes and the same color border making them stand out so well really, really catches my eye in any color combination. I would say you "made a big haul" on that bonus!!! Congrats...can't wait to see pics of all of them next year from YOUR garden! BTW, you asked me where I was at, I am in Weatherford, TX. If it's OK to ask, where are you at in this part of the world? Jan G.

Rohl's Farm Sink - in stock vs. custom order

If the prices were equal I would much prefer getting the sink in person. To the best of my knowledge Rohl (Shaw's) farm sinks are not made to order at the customer level they may be made to order on the retailer level but I am not sure. These sinks are hand made so seeing your actual sink in person can be advantageous. You can check that your sink is square, you can check drainage pitch using the marble test and you can look for any of the handmade imperfections that may have passed Rohl's review process but not yours. With that said none of the retailers in 75 mile radius of us came close to the price we got online at Vintage Tub and Bath, www.vintagetub.com. We had a very good purchasing experience with them and they will match the prices of other retailers.

Before you place an order with any online nursery, please foogle, Scoop on + the name of the nursery. Reviews on a garden's watchdog, Dave's Garden, will be there for you. Google Scoop on Badgersett nursery, reviews are mostly negatives. Sorry you had to learn it a hard way.

Someone just posted on this forum not too long ago about doing a cross with Greywoods Painted Pony & the eye was way too cool!!!! I remember looking it up on Tinkers & really, really liked it! Can't wait to see your pics of it next year.

GW Painted Pony.... 8-) You'll be really pleased with it. Increases very good and blooms a long time.

We have a couple hundred seedlings coming on next year with Pony as pod or pollen parent. We can't wait for them to bloom.

We've only ordered once from Greywood and we were pleased as heck also. We always have a look see at their new ones and will buy from them again when there is something we like.

I'm so glad to see this post about one of my most favorite sellers and hybridizers! Darlyn, owner of Greywood Farms, is about the nicest person you'd ever meet. She also sends the BEST plants. She can grow them up in Massachusetts nearly as big as the Florida folks. She is uber generous and her stuff is northern hardy.

I cannot recommend her introductions highly enough! I just picked up her GREYWOODS ROAD TO MECCA and look forward to hybridizing with it next year.

I was fortunate to visit her place for the first time back in July. Anyone interested in seeing the pictures of the visit? I also took pictures of some of her futures. If I hear there is interest, I'll post them later on tonight.

hello FSG--sorry I missed your post --but I had a DOG emergency--My older frenchie WOOWOO had to be spayed --so I've been off the Mac and playing NURSE---The INVITE TO VAMPIRE went for $515.00 NICE FLOWER !!! tons of teeth and DORMENT to boot!!! I would have bid a little more but the VET got my extra this week!!! ---off to dog shows back East in AM --Wish it was blooming time love to visit some dl garden while I'm at shows near philly----
