Thursday,September 1st and they are still blooming

Where did the summer go? Already September 1st and we still have blooms here. Will we make it to October 1st? Who knows but for now, I'll enjoy the hunt each day to see what has opened.

AUTUMN WOOD - doesn't send up tall scapes but the blooms are pretty.

BELLE ISLE LIPSTICK - I mentioned in yesterdays post how it sent up a scape and sure enough, today it opened.

COURT MAGICIAN - looks to be the last bloom. Other openings were not very good but this one look a bit better.

Others that opened were LESLIE RENEE and BLUE EYED SOUL MATE but since I've posted those already this week, I'll spare you all the repeat LOL.

Got very humid here today and the so called rain and T-storms we were suppose to get today, never appeared. Hopefully they are wrong for the weekend too. I can't complain as some of you are in the 90's to 100's so I'll take the low 80's with the humidity.

Kylie, "Butt-load"!ROTFLMFAO Daniella, to be honest, I haven't given anything fert. Just compost/mulch, used to be called Philly-Mulch,free from the water treatment facility(purified people poop with wood chips).This year it is called Earthmate Mulch,new process of composting it, now it's safe to use around edible plants. It wasn't before.I put the fine stuff on my beds before planting.That's it! I even used it to make up potting soil mix! Great stuff & free! Theresa

Okay, here's some pics, taken just now (November 3) in Edmonton. Very little left and it all looks a bit beat up so looks kind of trashy from a distance but the macro pics are okay. California poppy, started blooming mid-June, still blooming if it's sunny and somewhat warm: And harebell: That's all I have that's still putting out some colour.

My last bloom on APPLE TART just dropped off. I would have had 12 weeks of blooms if it had stayed on, but maybe the storm or cool weather caused it to drop off. As it is, I got 11 weeks of blooms off of this gem. RED VOLUNTEER is putting up a rebloom scape... certainly didn't expect that. KING OF SWING, PURPLE DE ORO, and PLATINUM PALETTE CALYPSO CORAL are also still blooming as well as the ones below. Not too bad for this area in the second week in September. Just hope the fall stays warm enough to produce blooms. BUTTERED POPCORN is reblooming and is sending up another scape just to the lower left of the bloom. WITCH STITCHERY... also wasn't expecting this rebloom scape. The blooms have been subjected to cool weather lately, so they aren't laying as nicely as usual, but hey, I'll take it! SEA GOLD... really growing to love the layers of color on this one. Vickie

Hi rick, You did fine. When you save to photobucket..on the html square click it, will say copy, min your site..then when you go in to put in a message when done, touch the screen with your mouse and the code of your photobucket picture will come in..then in preview you can see it./post. you did good..I think its Aztec gold or celadine, not sure which. WOw JULIA, I would gladly trade you my upper 90
s day for your lower 80's it was 98 today.very hot. Love that first bloom,Is gorgeous.

Very pretty blooms! It is hard to believe it is September.
Autumn Wood is a lovely one. I understand it is more of a cool weather than a hot weather selection, or I would have added it the first year I grew daylilies.

I like all 3 but the one that really caught my eye is 'Belle Isle Lipstick'. I just love pinks and midribs.
I also like the soft coloring on 'Autumn Wood' and it's form is very pleasing.

Nice ones, I know what you mean about being on the hunt for blooms now!! Autumn Wood is a great one. And I don't think anyone here would mind repeats!!!

Would you believe that AUTUMN WOOD is on my "get rid of list"? Always blooms too short here. Oh well, maybe next year.
