I really love those brilliant fall colors, made even more beautiful by the cool rain. We've been having rain yesterday and today, mostly pouring rain. I sure won't complain about the forecast for MORE rain when lots of folks aren't getting any. Hopefully there's no more flooding out of it. Thanks for showing us those lovely,

WESTBOURNE ORANGES FOR CHRISTMAS just has a wonderful look, I love that one. The colors really came through well in your photo.

Well, on Long Island it is ok with the rain but NJ is in really bad shape with the rain. The flooding rivers which had gone back to their banks so folks were doing cleanup are flooding AGAIN because of the rain. The ground is too wet there to soak up the water so it runs off to the rivers and the rivers flood while Texas burns. What a mess.

It feels like fall as it has been cool yesterday and today due to all the rain I guess.

I also really love the pretty form and colors of your WB! I'm getting soaked here, too, but I did some massive rearranging of plants, so the roots could really use it!

Nancy and honalee, I was answering Celeste when you both posted so we cross posted. I guess it was just chance that the two blooms I shot today were the autumn fall colors. But very appropreate as it is cool today. Especially nice as these two are both reblooming. VERNAL TUTONE is an early bloomer here and I know I was posting pictures of it in June. So it is really nice to have it blooming in September again.

CTC, at least it doesn't flood here LOL!

W.ORANGES FOR CHRISTMAS is very pretty..Looks like they are both injoying the rain.Texas could really use the rain, too.Over a 1,000 homes burnt up as of now.

Westbourne Oranges for Christmas is so pretty and my favorite. Sounds like you are getting some good rebloom this year. It was raining here too and I didn't get out to take any pictures.

I love those rebloomers, and how nice that they are fall colors! After all that rain, I'm wondering what else you will have reblooming this month. We've had several days of rain, so I'm hoping for some more September and October rebloom. By the way, I haven't heard from a friend who lives in Rochester, NY since the hurricane passed through there. Have you read any news about conditions in that area?

Very nice Rita. I too have noticed that the rains have really pumped up the blooms.
The ground is saturated here. Monday it rained all day, Tuesday we got a break, and yesterday, Wednesday - downpours that didn't stop all day and into the night. Hopefully today, we get another break. I just wish I could send some of this to folks who need it badly.

Debra: I'm not too far from Rochester,NY and they are not having, as far as I know, any problems as much as east and south of us which are flooding. Rochester is a very big area. I don't recall a tornado affecting that area recently. When did you hear of a tornado hitting that area?

Sorry Debra. I was thinking tornado and should have said hurricane. Rochester has had no major issues with the Tropical Storm that passed through, as they had the same effects we did here. Some areas had trees uprooted which caused power outages for a short time. No hurricane hit that area. Winds and rain from the Tropical Storm possibly but not as severe, as far as I know, like the eastern part of NY State which got hit hard.

Debra, I have a rebloom scape coming on CARNAVAL IN MEXICO but that is the only other one I have noticed. I don't think there will be any others although I can always hope.

I haven't heard anything unusual happening in Rochester.

Julia, The ground around here surely doesn't need any more rain for now. But lots of chance of rain in the forcast.

So nice saturated colors! Oranges for Christmas has a nice edge on sepals, very pretty.
We had some rain too, and I found 2 rebloom scapes yesterday!

The colors on both of those is great. I really like how VERNAL TUTONE has so much contrast between the petals & sepals.

VERNAL TUTONE has had really, really deep saturated colors this year. Much better than last year. It had fantastic color early in the season when it normally blooms and the rebloom scapes have just as much color and contrast. Must be the rain and the weather.
