Identify please - a wild flower? lily?

(Really sorry no photo. This must be simple but I don't know how to search the web for it) Plant is wildly blooming now, in full sun dry alley way with Gallardia & Mex Petunia - i.e., low water need. Chest high. Lily-like leaves at base. Taller Multi-branched stalk holds 3 at once: squarish green seed pod, erupted pod of dozens of black seeds like BBs, 1-inch star shaped flower of tiger lily colorings (? - yellow dotted with red). Entire plant is stunning, gorgeous. (In St Pete is at 9th S/n at 24 Ave behind Dave's Restaurant - all along the property - someone at that home loves flowering plants that love our climate. I copped seeds. What is it? Thank you!
