Hi, I can't really speak to the size thing, would have thought it's more an age thing to bloom, but I haven't had lots of blooms to date growing indoors.

So keeping in line w/ easy for someone new & having nice foliage, I'd say any kind of Pubicalyx, like Pink Splash or any others you can find; Curtisi is fairly easy (I think Exotic Angel calls it 'Stripe'). Lacunosa needs a bit more moisture, but seems pretty easy as well.

I've found bella a quick and easy flowerer for me. I can't remember exactly how long it took to flower, but I would say within a year of rooting a cutting similar to yours. I found another bud on mine recently so I'm hoping to see some more flowers soon... we'll see.

However, I live in the UK, where it's cooler, and more suited it seems for bella, as it thrives and grows well for me.

Well I am in the process of rooting a hoya bella - and this is one of my cuttings. So... I guess they can flower as early as that :0) It has been very slowly getting bigger each day.

Wow, I'm impressed, I had no idea they'd bloom so readily. Maybe I should bring my little hydro growing Bella sprigs over here & show them how it's done!!!

Golden, that IS a beautiful photo! I have a bella cutting that is very small, and I have had it since August of 08 and it has done nothing but sit there, so when and if it starts growing I will be a very happy person. It's good to know it doesn't need to be a large plant.

Well as soon as it actually flowers - I'll take a picture and post it. Hopefully it makes it all the way! I hope, fingers crossed! Actually one thing I do have to say - is every day it gets bigger - seems to be growing quite quickly.
Saltarello - mine is in a aquarium with a light so maybe move yours into one - if you happen to have one kicking around. Im sure the light and the little bit of humidity helps! Golden

Hills, that is good information.

One thing I want to add, when it blooms it tends to set bunches all at one time, and open up within days of each other to be gone in a short while.

In my experience, this wants seasonal differences in care. But that could have been inattention or other cultural influences on my part. When I first started growing bella, it was in a SW pot and it did GREAT that summer. It didn't make it through Winter though.
Okay, you can see that it was in bloom for two months at least, even with all these open blooms there were new ones forming!

I hope everyone has great success with this one, because it is well worth the effort. I've been told it has a slight scent but I've never noted it.

To end on a more upbeat note, my replacement made it through winter outside, no problems!

What a gorgeous Bella!! Do you guys think Bella would do badly here in Fl, because of our very hot/humid spring and summers? I have a very small cutting that I received in the fall and is doing pretty well so far...but I am concerned, thinking we're coming into our hot and very humid climate around the corner...80's by today. I'm not sure how it will do after that?

Beautiful shot Cena! Looking forward to mine being as nice as yours one day. Have to have patience considering mines a little stem cutting - lol. I think when my sister inlaw gave me the cutting it must of had a very tinsy bud forming on it to begin with.

Earlier in the year, when I brought it home in June. Medium pizza box.

The SW pot could be as much as 10 inches across (exterior straight across) with expanded exterior sides holding the resevoir. But I think it is more likely to be 8 or 9 inches.

From Rainbow Gardens, the previous owners, and the date I brought it home should hint to you that it came from the annual C&S Show & Sale. This plant is long dead and gone!
