New Hoya ID, please!

Hi guys! So one of the local nurseries was having a tropical plant sale....found some cacti and succulents, but also found this little guy...was the only one they had.

The leaves are about the same size (though not as uniformly so) and thickness/texture (with that sheen to them) as my lacunosa, but are wavy (contorted) and have the white edge.

Do you recognize it?

Look up Hoya carnosa 'Holliana' and see what you think. It's a dwarf Hoya. Very cute!

Very Nice Royal Flush Dawn...it is huge! Tish, I know you've been looking for one, so hopefully in the next few weeks you will see them in your area. Don't feel bad, EA's greenhouse/warehouse is leas than 2 hours from my house, but they don't sell to the public. I've not seen them in any of the big box stores in my area either. Luckily, I'm not looking for one since I do have a Nice 4" rooted cuttings from a very nice member here on a trade. Good luck finding one!

Could it be H. carnosa rubra? I seem to recall that I got it as H. rubra picta, but once I saw a picta, I was convinced it couldn't be a hybrid w/picta. But who knows? Leaves are medium to large, very variable, some flat like carnosa (though more succulent), some are incurved and large. New leaves usually start out almost purplish, then turn green pretty quickly. Thanks for your help. I guess I will just have to wait and see on the pubicalyx. Strangely enough I just looked closely at one of my other hoyas this morning and I believe I have a peduncle forming. I thought this plant would never bloom! I lost count on how old it is. It is huge and it is in a 6" pot. I kept thinking I needed to repot it, but I'm not going to touch it now. I don't even know what it is either. I had always assumed it was a carnosa. ...if this actually does bloom, I will do a cartwheel!!!

'Krimson Princess' is actually an old trade name. I think carnosa rubra variegata is the real botanic name of this one. The two are the same, probably just different clones. The one I have has wider (and rounder) leaves like the first one, but the new all-green growth is shaped more like your second one. It's weird how growth can be so variable on many of the Hoya species... Denise in Omaha

It is putting out some new growth currently...seems very happy in my east window.

Just picked up a few Hindu Rope (variegated), too. 1.50 each, so I got three for a full pot...

I am glad it's doing well for you. Can you tell me what kind of care you give it, watering specifically because you said you have it in an east window? Mine has a few yellow leaves and I want to make sure I am watering it correctly.
Good find on the rope. My local greenhouse has some in 2" pots for $2.25. As of today I have bought 8 :O. I'll bet I'm not done yet :) I also found one in a 4" pot for $6.00 with 3 sets of buds which now are blooming, so pretty.

I am letting mine get completely dry before watering again...probably every 10 days or so. I tend to water on instinct rather than a schedule...but if I can tell that the soil is completely dry, it gets a soaking. I treat them very much the same as my Schlumbergeras. I will probably beef that up a bit now that it is growing...hope I am taking care of it right, I am pretty new to Hoyas.

I am jealous of your blooms...hopefully I will get some in the near future...so far just the lacunosa...

Thanks for the info. And my blooms are not my blooms they are the greenhouse's I bought it from, I just get to enjoy them :) Now I have to get some to bloom myself.
