According to the forecast here, we're not expecting frosts this next week. I hope not, I'll be vacationing with a friend. DH probably can't be counted on to move my plants out of frost range, maybe I better move them just in case.

That's a beautiful color and such an unexpected treat for you. Wonder why it is blooming so late? I have never heard of that one so I checked it out on Tinker's and it is listed as early-mid....so maybe it was asleep and forgot to bloom when it should have? LOL

Avedon, I don't like really hot weather such as you are having either. I's a good thing that we can't control it though because the insects would tote us away. Hehehe!

ngraham, it is a good color but is faded from being open all day. It's usually much darker though. As for frost, it wasn't forcast but where I live, it's much colder than our town which is 7 miles from me. We vary from 3 to 11 degrees colder up here which is good in the summer but makes it a little difficult in the winter..

Casey, I have no idea why it's blooming so late. I have had several do that this year. I have had it for several years so it shouldn't be confused.

Celeste, I did the same by checking to see if my data was wrong. Crazy, crazy weather this year may have made the difference. owever, I'm glad to see the bloom..

mantis, I am in zone 7 but my small are is more like a 6. It's been really cool here nights. Upper 40's and low 50's for several nights. I have been waiting for it to warm up in order to get outside.. LOL!! I'm old, you know!!

Debra, I still have so much to do in the garden so I don't especially welcome the frost but, there's nothing I can do except Roll with the Tide..

We too will experience some cold but then, I do live in the north LOL. However, they do say the temps will rebound next week. We shall see.

I've had weird blooming times down here in southeast Texas, too, as well as more than expected proliferations.

And...the good news is that it actually rained on our little spot of earth this week! It arrived just in time to give our newly transplanted seedlings a good start. I hope it continues! We are actually going to have temperatures in the 80's this coming week. Yea!

Julia, I hope they do rebound..( temps) I really hate for winter to come. I have so much yet to do.LOL!! I covered my babies and the new daylilies last night. I also brought in my house plants.. Brrr!!!

Cindy, I will vote for Indian Summer.. But you are right about the cold week-end. Yikes!! The color on this daylily is usually darker but the photo was taken in the evening as we were leaving for church Wednesday!

Nancy, I saw the Texas rain in the news and was just tickled pink for all the forum friends there. Weird is the right word for this past bloom season. I have a scape on Dizzy Miss Lizzy...she didn't bloom this year either. I don't think she'll get to though because I know the cold days and nights have set her back.

Yeah Mike, she does have a glowing throat. Mostly, the flash caused the effect though, I think!

Rita, I had another bloom but the cold got it. I still have some scapes but I don't think I will see much in the way of blooms...
